We wanted a base to explore Cheddar Gorge and Wells and the surrounding countryside and booked a four night stay at the Swan. Very good choice on the Menu and staff could not have been more helpful or polite. Only slight problem - no wardrobe or drawer unit - but we managed. Huge comfortable bed and plenty of towels

While on business in Bristol area, we stayed overnight before going on to Exeter. We were looking for a pub with comfortable rooms with a promise of good food. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious, comfortable and warm as we were there in the winter. Welcoming pub and restaurant. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. We would be... More

We were given room 6 which was spotlessly clean and a comfy bed. There was a step down into the bathroom but was not "visible" and should have had a hazard warning beware step!. I fell down the step and hurt my knee when going to the bathroom. No shower in room just a very big deep bath which was... More

My other half had looked this place up on the net, it looked good so we drove down for lunch from Hereford. We both had the burger and delicious is an understatement as for the chips not sure how they do it, but they where the best we have ever eaten, lovely and crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the... We have just got home from a lovely short break to Cheddar Gorge. The Swan is 5 - 10 min drive to the Gorge and was just perfect. We stayed with our 7 year old son in one of the larger rooms, he had a zbed which was more than adequate. The room was fantastic with roll top bath, the... More

We went back to Wedmore as it where my wife grew up. We had lunch in the Swan. I had a rib eye steak. It was not cooked properly. In fact they had no chance of cooking it as I required as it was so thin. It was an 8oz however at £22 I would have expected more. After all... More

Stayed for one night in July on the way to Cornwall. Beautiful individually designed room, particularly the wallpaper, big bathroom with roll top bath. Delicious bathroom products to use and to buy. Lovely restaurant with delicious freshly cooked food. Pretty garden where we had breakfast. All in all a very pleasant stay, would totally recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely come back! Room was gorgeous, food was fantastic! And staff really couldn't have been any friendlier or more helpful! Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel really welcome! Brilliant location and reasonably priced!

As it was a special occasion we went to the Swan on Sat.July 20th for dinner. We had been there in April for lunch and that was excellent. It's a lovely pub in a nice village but sadly the food served for our dinner was very poor. The quality was poor as was the presentation of the food. For dishes... More

Nice pub atmosphere in the bar with decent menu. I stayed in room 1 which was large and had a roll top bath in the room. Bathroom was large and had z walk in shower. My only disappointment was at breakfast. When I asked for cereal I was told the only cereal the have was some kind of oats... Unbelievable,... More
