I stayed here for a week and it was an absolute pleasure to come back after work to peace and quiet the building is grade II listed and beautifully maintained by Dinah, the rooms have real character and are beautifully presented. Will definitely have to visit again!

I stayed for a six month period at Great House and what a great B&B it was, a beautiful house in wonderful surroundings. Dianh was extremely welcoming I couldn't of asked for a better welcome to Wales. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and pubs a short walk away. I would highly recommend staying at The Great House you won't... More

Wonderful warm welcome from Dinah. The house is absolutely gorgeous - so charming and characterful. Lovely bedrooms and very pretty bathroom. The breakfast surpassed our expectation - everything was beautifully presented and utterly delicious! The interior of the house is delightful and the garden leads down to the River Usk. Great House is situated in a quiet part of the... More

We stayed at Great House when we attended my Son's graduation last month. The welcome we received at this 17th century house was second to none. Dana Price, the proprieter, is an absolute gem. The rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. My mother and I shared a twin room and my Son occupied the twin room next door. There... More

Let me start with the good stuff! The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was relatively small but perfectly adequate for a one night stay. The bathroom positively shone, towels were plentiful and the shower goodies were very nice. The bed was somewhat hard, but that did not bother us. The bedding was crisp and clean. So far, so good.... Great House is a wonderful old building with plenty of character. The wooden Tudor front door is particularly impressive as are the beams inside the house. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay of 2 nights during the weekend of the Caerleon festival, in a spacious double room overlooking the quiet street. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and served by Dinah,... More

Had a lovely stay here in May 2013 - spring blossoms and spring weather! Dinah is a warm hostess and a great gardener and her pup Tasker is a treat. The back garden overlooks the Usk tidal river - I had a room overlooking it and greatly enjoyed watching the river and its flora and fauna. Convenient to Carleon town... More

I agree with pretty much everything the other reviewer said, so needn't repeat it all. I stayed here with my dad as it was convenient location but away from Newport which isn't my favourite place in the world!! Felt very far removed from the city but still close. Ideal in that sense. Riverside location and the Bell pub up the... More

I stayed at this B&B as a 1 night stop-over on my holiday to Wales. After a long drive ... car parking is difficult as the B&B is in a narrow one-way street, in fact, I had to 'go around' a few times to claim my space, unfortunately at a distance from the house. Dinah seemed unaware of my Internet... More
