Loved our night here. Gorgeous location and setting, great quality and attention to detail. Hidden gem, quintessential English pub with lovely unique rooms. Really friendly team. Great menu - pub grub and restaurant spec, all very good!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this beautiful looking pub, we went for Sunday lunch only. Excellent food and wine which was very well presented, all three courses were superb, could not fault any of it. The staff were all very friendly. Warm cosy atmosphere inside with the added bonus of a real fire. Nice bar area with good... More

This review is for the restaurant, not the hotel. Mains and starters were mostly good but the terrine was served with huge chunks of bread which made it a bit hard to stuff a bit of terrine on the bread; my wife found her soup ordinary. Really nice place, wonderful ambiance, a perfect pub in a charming location.

The room was beyond expectation, being a coffee lover, the fact they had Nespresso, and Cafetiére, as well as instant coffee and hot chocolate and vast array of different teas, my issue was where is the milk, well apparently in the fridge in the cupboard near the bathroom, a little note inside the hamper with the coffee stuff would be... Staying in the Burghley Room, which is in the courtyard and is a garden room with its own enclosed outdoor space. The room is large, well decorated and is well appointed. Chairs, desk and large TV are the norm for hotel rooms, but sofa, fireplace, tassimo, tea box, fridge, home made shortbread, bottled water, and docking station/alarm clock were all... More

Met with family and friends of all ages. Good variety on the menu, very fair prices. Food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented and very well cooked. Generous portions too! Excellent atmosphere, never felt rushed and helpful staff. Impressed, will be back .

Have just spent a long weekend at The Crown.....there were 12 of us on a family reunion and we had a wonderful time. The Inn is in a lovely little village and looks beautiful as you approach it. Inside the bar is very warm and friendly as are all of the staff we met. The rooms were amazing and very... More

The crown in elton must be one of my favourite pubs, we walk through the fields and after about an hour arrive at the crown. Everything we have tried has always been great and good beers on tap too, well worth finding if you are in the area.

My family and I were here for three days this week, and it was a really lovely break. The rooms were lovely (the Burghley which had a lovely patio/small garden which caught the sun nicely), the Fotheringay (walk in shower/wet room) and the Stamford, which is upstairs in the main pub. The rooms were lovely and comfy, the beds were... More

Stayed for just the one night as needed to be in the area due to work. Was given the Stamford room which was just up the stairs from the bar, the room was spacious with a king size brass bed and sofa bed with all the facilities that you would expect, an iron, tea/coffee, home made short bread biscuits(which were... Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to review us. The staff and I are really pleased you enjoyed your time with us. Cooked breakfast, fluffy towels and shortbread are extremely important to us as are satisfied customers! We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Meantime we'll take a look at the TV reception!
