We stayed overnight in a twin room. We were made welcome with a refreshing cup of tea and biscuits and a chat with Janet and Ian. Both know the area so very well and can recommend the best places to visit. We particularly enjoyed our walk to the boundary stone and the great views on the way. A lovely B&B... More

We had a lovely stay at this b&b run by friendly hosts. Nice room with everything you need and delicious breakfasts. Well situated to explore the area, we can recommend national trust run longshaw estate for a nice place to walk, and nearby curry cottage for a fantastic meal.

We stayed at this B&B for 2 nights and we cannot recommend it enough! Ian and Janet are wonderful hosts and made us both feel very welcome. They are knowledgeable about the area and suggested lots of places for us to visit. The B&B itself is very cosy and the rooms are impeccably clean. The breakfast was very tasty and... More

Ian and Janet are the perfect hosts; very friendly and accommodating. Both gave us some great helpful tips for what to do and see, where to eat etc. The en-suite double room was very comfortable and quite spacious with tea/coffee-making facilities, hair-dryer, good-sized wardrobe and comfy bed. We had a spacious en-suite with bath and shower. Very clean and nicely... More

A good old-fashioned B&B. Janet and Ian are full of stories about the area and great conversationalists, and can always suggest things to see and do in the area. 'Only teeny tiny glitch is the over-bright street lights at the front, but they do switch off at midnight (and you can hardly blame the owners). A good base to explore... More

When reviewing this B&B it is hard to judge where to start as everything about it was perfect. The B&B is located in a lovely village, with a choice of walks around the fresh countryside. The room was nice, cosy and quiet, with small personal touches that added to the experience. The tea making facilities did not disappoint with a... More

This is a very nice place to stay : large common room, excellent breakfast and high degree of hospitality. Janet and Ian are excellent hosts and can give interesting suggestions for hiking in the area.

If B&B is judged on i) comfort of the bed; ii) choice and quality at breakfast; iii) plenty of instant hot water; and iv) cleanliness, then this scores 10 / 10 for all four. In this case you then need to add to that warmth of the welcome from Janet & Ian; the availability of a guest sitting area with... More

The first thing that struck me about my stay at Crown Cottage was the lovely warm welcome I received - on my arrival Janet got me a cup of tea and plate of biscuits and sat chatting to me for the best part of an hour. The room I stayed in was nice and cosy with the lovely touch of... More

Probably the best B&B I've ever stayed in. Clean, well furbished, the room was a great size and the couple that run it are very friendly. Would highly recommend. Just note that the B&B is in Eyam, although this (and my sat nav) said Hope Valley. It was a shame because in researching places to stay before hand I was... More
