Great location just outside the village. Clean, quiet with excellent food. Good walking country but not so good if you have serious physical problems as it is hilly with a steep hill to the hostel itself

Not much of a welcome here, which was disappointing after scrambling up the steep hill in the dark after a 15 mile walk with my daughter. The hostel is lovely downstairs, food was great. The rooms were ok but the showers were smelly and not that clean.

Relaxed atmosphere in a good location with good food. Rooms could do with redecoration particularly shower room which was starting to go mouldy in the sealant. Wooden bunk beds squeaky. Some noise from other residents which can't blame on the place. Overall though good value.

Lovely building in a fantastic location. The hostel was clean and very family friendly. The self-serve kitchen was a little crowded, but is very well stocked with anything you might need. The staff seemed a bit distracted, but overall, great place.

I recently organised the Annual Dinner Weekend for our London based climbing club at Eyam YHA and am pleased to say that the whole experience was wonderful. From first visiting the Hostel and meeting the staff with a hundred questions, needs and wants, all of which were answered carefully, kindly and positively, to seeing 60 members enjoy themselves over the... Check in for our group was really odd, with no staff around. We collected our keys off the front desk then later got in to trouble for misusing a key (despite being given no instructions whatsoever about anything on site). Rooms were very small when at capacity. The shower rooms were also pokey as were the toilets off the corridors.... More

We stayed here over Easter for a cycling trip (not the best weather as it had snowed very heavily and some roads were partially blocked!!). We'd booked in advance, so went anyway, taking bikes on the train. Made very welcome, warden etc very helpful. We arrived earlier than Reception stated opening time (5pm) but part of hostel was open with... More

Great youth hostel. Cheap and functional. Alcohol availble for after all those long walks. Nice big lounge with tv that actually works. Good location that you can access a large area of the peak district from. Shower was particularly lovely. Would definitely stay again

I just stayed the one night in dorm. At £15 a night it was an absolute bargain as I had the room to myself. The hostel is very quiet and on that night all the other visitors seemed to be older. Everything was spotless and smelt nice and clean. I think they'd just done a bit of decorating as there... More

My friend and I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights. It was lovely! Comfortable, and hot showers. We had the cooked breakfast in the morning which gave us enough energy to go hiking. The views were stunning as well, even in Dec. Definitely suitable for us. If you have a car, very convenient to get to places!
