Stayed one night Saturday 12th May. Lovely old Inn facing onto Sheepwash square. Log fire. Tasty food to be had in bar or adjoining restuarant. Pleasant staff. Good mix of visitors and locals. Slept like a log. My husband and I would love a local like this. Lucky Sheepwash residents! Would most definitely stay again.

a great inn with good rooms and excellent food and really tasty breakfast's, they have a open log fire with a cosy bar. We cycled there from the Tarka trail from Braunton and they have a garage to store your bike's .Would highly recommend this inn and will stop there again.

I have stayed at the Half Moon several times over the last few years and it has become one of my favourite places to stay. The rooms - especially in the main building - are large and comfortable. Not tarted up with lots of unnecessary cushions and throws, but more traditional in style with comfortable beds. Sheepwash is a quiet... More

Stayed at the Half Moon recently for one week while completing a course nearby. Rooms were very nice and comfortable, the food is excellent with a huge selection/ variety and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread/choice is one of the most impressive I've seen in my extensive travels and the operators are really setting the standards... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with the sole purpose of fishing the river Torridge for salmon. Rooms are comfortable and absolutely spotless! Breakfast is to die for - you will not get a better English breakfast any where! Evening meals are adequate with a big choice of starters and mains. All the staff are friendly and have time to talk... More

Superb breakfast with a good selection of fresh fruits as well as a a nicely cooked breakfast again with plenty of choices including kedgeree! The pretty village of sheepwash is tiny but it is on the coast to coast cycle route with larger towns... More

No effort made by him on our leaving to say goodnight/goodbye/thank you for coming etc...in... More

Recently visited the Half moon for a lunch time meal and to try one of their real ales, as you walk in to the bar you are greeted by the very friendly bar staff and the smell of good food coming from the kitchen. The bar can only be described as a proper english country pub with wooden beams and... More

Four of us enjoyed a delighful three course lunch in the cozy bar of this characterful inn. Our hosts were cheerful and friendly and the food, all prepared on the premises from local produce and game, was varied and uniformally delicious. The lobster and crab bisque was a particularly hearty starter, which we followed with Pork Diane, Honey-roasted Duck and... More
