The hotel's wine boutique provides wine tasting enthusiastically introducing visitors to the local Vire Clesse wine, the superb cuisine is innovative and artistic served by smiling staff, happy to provide a gorgeous vegetarian option, the pool overlooking the vineyard clos is a peaceful place for a dip or to sit and read. The chic rooms are in the courtyard of... More

This was a wonderful destination. The service second to none, the room was spotless and very comfortable. The food was excellent. It is definitely not cheap, but if you want cheap you don't belong here. It is very good value for the money

We had sneakily previewed this chateau, as the week prior to our stay we stayed at another chateau nearby, so took the opportunity to have a peak before leaving the area. It looked sensational, and we were very much looking forward to our stay. It is a glorious old chateau which has been completely restored with imagination and a luxurious... More

We decided to stay here since it was close to a golf course (not very good though!). Really no major complaints. Although the accommodations in the annex were small, they were well laid out and even had a kitchenette. It was very modern but comfortable with a great bed, linens and views of the vineyards. If obese or very tall,... More

We only stayed one night at the chateau but I would not rush back. Whilst it is undoubtedly a beautiful place, carefully restored, with excellent service, what was disappointing was the room. The advertising blurb does not make it obvious that you are not staying in the main building and our room, whilst spotlessly clean, felt cramped and was quite... More

What an incredible place to stay in a quiet vineyard setting. The rooms in this chateau/hotel have a Scandinavian flair which look like someone paid a visit to Ikea. The loft rooms are spacious, include a wet bar, and have a view of never-ending vineyards. The hotel bar and five-star restaurant are first class. All the hotel and restaurant staff... More

We have just spent a night at Chateau Besseuil with friends. We had ordered 2 doubl bedrooms but got upgraded to an apartment with 2 bedroms with ensuite bathrooms. The apartment was fantastic but A/C in the bedrooms would have made it perfect. The gardens with the pool was very nice. The dinner at the restaurant in the evening topped... More

This hotel is really fantastic. The grounds of the property are stunning. The swimming pool is large and has fantastic views of the château and the vineyard. All staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and efficient, the best we met in the whole of Burgundy. Some other reviewers have had mixed comments about the rooms. It is true that... More

We stayed at Chateau de Besseuil at a lastish minute - having decided to breakup the journey back from the south. Undeniably it is at a lovely location, but the twin room in the outbuildings was maybe too modern for our taste. Some previous reviewer compared the interior to that of Ikea furniture - which is a fair comparison! The... More

We found this beautiful, hotel to be just what we needed after touring for many days. A delightful setting. Spotlessly clean rooms and so nice to get complimentary water in the fridge and tea/coffee and even little cakes to welcome you. Free Internet and BBC TV! So many interesting places to visit in this charming part of Burgundy. Taize was... More
