What can I say......? You hosted our family with charm and impeccable service in a beautiful, relaxed environment. Luxurious rooms, divine SM Novella toiletries. You are a wonderful example of the best Italian hospitality. I have stayed at many fine hotels and can say that this was one of my nicest experiences. Breakfast in the courtyard, lunch by the pool,... More

This place is really a glorified B&B in the centre of a pretty uninspiring town. Good points are as follows. Service could not be nicer, the rooms are very nice and the setting is lovely. The minus points are that the food is average although it pretends to be better. The real issue with this place is that it is... More

If you find this place it will be by accident lol The police actually gave us a police escort to the building with "no signage". Well off the beaten path of most exclusive and luxurious hotels. No wonder so many well-known executives, movie stars and others visit here knowing they will have a wonderful stay with the utmost privacy. My... More

One of the most unusual hotel experiences you can have but certainly not in a town you would think of visiting otherwise. We stayed in a garden room which was really lovely, but almost 1000 euros cheaper than some of the rooms in the palazzo. Once inside the gates you are transported to a haven of tranquility with food and... More

This is simply one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in and we have stayed at the Splendido, Cipriani, Borgo Santo Pietro...... The service, the food, the rooms are all perfection. Nothing is too much trouble and our pleasure appeared to be their pleasure. Whether lazing by the pool, having a cookery lesson in the kitchen or watching... More

My wife and I spent our honeymoon vacation at Palazzo Margherita in Bernalda and did not regret it one bit. The main reason for choosing Palazzo Margherita was because we wanted to be in a central location in the South of Italy that is near the beach and a close drive to the many historic sites. Other reasons for choosing... More

First of all Bernalda isn't a very attractive city to vist. But going there by car you can acess many intresting places like: Matera. Puglia is know from good food and for sure you can find it in the hotel restaurant. Free cooking lessons helps you to take all the memories home and re-make them with your friends. The rooms,... This is one of the most beautiful places you will ever go in your life. The palazzo is an experience without peer. The rooms are magnificent. The food is an italian fantasy. The area is incredible. The beach is 15 minutes away, Matera is a must see. Puglia is close. The drive from Napoli or Amalfi is lovely.

A word of caution, once you get there, you will not want to leave. The nondescript building exterior hides a jewel within...beautiful rooms, a glorious garden, and service that is spot-on. From the moment we entered the grounds, we were welcomed by friendly staff and treated with care and kindness. The kitchen is open for viewing and we were able... More

We could not imagine a more incredible way to start our trip to Italy. We stayed here for four nights and are sad to be leaving. The property is beautiful with immaculate rooms, gardens and dining spaces. The staff treats every guest with hospitality we have never experienced before. A few highlights...we were upgraded to a beautiful room on the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Palazzo Margherita for me is a dream come true. Its magical gardens, the family gathering in the magnificent salon for whatever purpose; celebretions, intimate teas or evenings of films. It is a painted palace, with frescos on its ceilings and walls, palatial rooms with countless details, modern in terms of its systems, music and cinema available like hot and cold running water; yet the patina of its epoch is preserved, and when the children are there, delight is everywhere.Francis Ford Coppola ... more   less
