A great find. Truly exceptional food from a very interesting menu. Plenty to choose from, both traditional and contemporary. A nice interior, lovely beer, wine list pretty good, prices good, staff friendly. Why not 5 stars? Not sure, really. Should anything have 5? Certainly 4 1/2. I recommend it. Really recommend it. I can't wait to go back.

Another great visit here. The food was cooked fresh so we had a bit of a wait but well worth it. For starters I had the Ham Hock and it was delicious! My friend had the Spicy Fish Cakes and loved them! The mains of Beef Pie with Vegetables and the Cheese Potato and Leek Pie with Salad was really... More

We had a 2 day stay this week at the Queens Head the staff were very welcoming the room was spotless and a really good size, the food was excellent and portions very generous, our next stay will be for longer and would recommend this very highly. Thank you.

Can't recommend enough, we went for lunch today a starter and main course for £10 each, mushrooms in a blue Wensleydale sauce, parsnip and lentil soup, venison pie and chicken in a white wine sauce with mushrooms all was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be going back soon

Decent menu, reasonably priced and brilliantly cooked. I've eaten there about 5 times now and its always good. I was there on Saturday night and got the last table - they're obviously doing something right.

The Queens Head is being upgraded and we were happy with our room which was situated at the back of the building, comfortable and a good size and thought has gone into the decor. The bar was cosy and the menu had good choices. We could have eaten where we sat in the pub but opted to go into the... More

This must be the fourth time we have stayed at The Queens Head and it never disappoints. We stayed for four nights and ate in the lovely restaurant, eating off the early diner menu most times, as always our meals including our breakfasts were excellent. We even managed to sit outside and admire the view. Thank you to Ian and... More

We had our first visit here for an evening meal with friends last week and it certainly won't be our last. The meal couldn't be faulted it was all home cooked and arrived piping hot. The menu has an excellent and varied choice to suit all palates. We chose from the early diner menu which was less than £18 for... More
