We have passed through the charming village of Finghall on many occasions without ever calling in to The Queen's Head. That was a mistake we do not intend to repeat! Our first visit a few days ago exceeded all expectations: a very warm welcome from behind the bar, 2 roaring open fires, & a cosy bar area with a very... More

We have just had a lovely Christmas lunch with friends at the Queens Head - from the very warm welcome we got when we arrived - the food was very nice and fantastic value - staff very friendly - The dining room was very spacious with fabulous views - Will definitely go back sometime!!

Our dining experience was spoiled by the unfriendly and brusque attitude of the barman. Any attempt to start a conversation with him fell on deaf ears. There was no please or thank you or check to see if everything was ok with our food (we ate in the bar area). The pub was also cold. Our food however was excellent... More

We booked this restaurant from Tripadvisor to meet friends and when we arrived we started to consider whether we had done the right thing. The frontage of this building is very old and appears run down. As soon as we entered those concerns soon disappeared and we were made very comfortable in the quaint surroundings of the bar for our... More

I cannot comment on the accommodation as I was staying somewhere else. However, this pub/hotel was recommended to me for my evening meals by my hosts. I arrived and had the early bird menu which is 3 courses for £17.50, served until 7.30pm. I was staying for 3 nights and once I had sampled the food the first evening, I... More

We stayed for 2 nights on 31st October for my nephews passing out parade, We booked the family room which was nicely decorated, spacious and well furnished (love the comfortable beds). The food was of a high standard and good value. Breakfast was one of the best I have had, and the dining room is overlooking the dales with lovely... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights last week, what a fabulous place it was, the room was gorgeous, with lovely furniture, decor, and furnishings. The owners Ian and Helen were lovely who made our stay special. We ate here on the second night. The food was absolutely to die for, Cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The... More

Second visit to the Queens Head, very pleased with early bird menu, served up to 7.30pm. Good choice, varied, menu. All round excellent meal, nice cosy atmosphere on a damp, cold November evening. Very good value, will defiantly be back again.
