I can only comment about the food as have never stayed here.Food has always been really good, there is an amazing menu which changes daily, also good pub food menu, all very fresh, well cooked and a reasonable price. My personal favourite is the large garlic king prawn salad, delicious.Sunday lunch also worth a visit, and get a free swim when you dine there, how good is that.Children... ... would have been disappointed if paying full tariff. Staff fantastic, food scrummy, location good for touring. On the down side our room was comfortable but the bathroom was dated, the decor in the public areas was tatty in places and the gardens were full of empty tubs. Not the standard you would expect for the full price. That said... More

We stayed over a long weekend on a very reasonable offer, the room was a good size also with good sized en-suite and most of the facilities you would expect. The staff were very friendly and efficent, we asked for extra furniture and it was there when we got back. The swimming pool was a nice extra and although not... More

We stayed in one of the hotel's superior rooms which are separate from the main building and overlook the cricket ground and countryside. The room was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Dinner was good, with fresh, quality ingredients used throughout. The butterflied prawns were the favorite starter and the stuffed chicken breasts... Stayed here on a Travel Zoo offer. Excellent value for money. Room large and clean but bathroom a bit dated. My wife's fillet steak was excellent but I made the mistake of ordering a Thai Green Curry without asking how hot it was. It was HOT! Service superb and staff all very helpful.

We werelooking forward to a little break. We booked in for a 'Superior room', we were shown to our room. I went to check the bathroom, turned the light on and no lights. I banged one of the bulbs and it went on. I went to wash my hands and the handle came off in my hand. I went to... More

We stayed two nights in a garden room. This was spacious and well decorated, our only gripes were that the small radiator did not adequately heat the room and we felt cold all the time. We did ask for and were given a blanket, but as people who use minimal heat at home, it must have been chilly for us... More

My husband and I were given a free night here. We enjoyed a lovely night in one of the balcony garden view rooms. Although the décor in our room was a little dated the other rooms were nicely decorated. We had a great nights sleep with an incredibly comfortable bed in the quiet surroundings. The pool was a good size... More

Stayed at this hotel with friends who had been given a gift voucher as a present. Our room with views over cricket pitch to the river was spotlessly clean and very comfortable,. Four course dinner and breakfast were excellent, plenty of choice with well cooked quality ingredients. The hotel is ideally situated to explore this beautiful area. We would recommend this... More
