We booked a privately owned chalet at the last minute and had a wonderful week, even the weather was beautiful for us! The site was very peaceful and well kept, easy walking distance to the nearby beach. Beautiful surroundings, the chalet overlooked the nearby lake and hillsides. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The accommodation was versatile, five of us... More

We've just come back our second visit to Barend. The chalet was clean and very well equipped, the site is also spotless with doggy bins and bags available in various areas. The reception team are very helpful and friendly, we had to alter the dates of our stay a couple of weeks before the holiday and they were very accommodating.... More

We went to Barend at the beginning of June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hired a three bedroom lodge that was like a little tardis. The lodge was well equipped - the kitchen was tiny but had everything except knives, forks and spoons, which was odd. Luckily we brought a picnic hamper with some in. We had some issue... More

Thank you for your review. We are always pleased when people enjoy the peace and quiet of Barend. I am thinking that you booked through a private owner on the site, or you would have gone to the Reception of Barend Holiday Village, and one of our friendly staff would have shown where the cutlery was, or would have been... We spent a week at Barend last week in chalet 41 & had a great time. I was slightly worried that the chalet would be too small for us (4 adults & 3 kids) but was pleasantly surprised. Even though our bedroom was directly next to the kids, we weren't woken up by them so the sound-proofing was better than... More

Going back in two weeks time and bringing my brother and his family with us this time. Visited in April and had a fantastic and relaxing time as usual. Special mention to Gary and Lesley who own and run the bar/restaurant. They are so friendly and incredibly helpful and bent over backwards to help us with a special request we... More

We came to surprise a family member. The lodges are lovely and so comfortable. I haven't slept so soundly. We've also taken advantage of the facilities of a pub/restaurant, swimming pool and sauna. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The views are beautiful and it's so easy to relax. There's plenty to do away from the lodges too for couples,... More

Stayed in a lodge which sleeps 6 comfortably arranged through a friend of a friend. The location is great with beautiful scenery, stunning views and walks with plenty to do. The site is good and well maintained; facilities include a bar and restuarant serving good quality and tasty "pub grub"; a swinging pool and sauna; laundry facilities should you need... More
