Stayed here a week 8 Of us in a log cabin . It was great lovely location, the cabin its self had everything we needed . Swimming pool was a bit dated but kids enjoyed it . This holiday village is very quiet maybe too quiet for some .

We spent a week at Barend last week in chalet 41 & had a great time. I was slightly worried that the chalet would be too small for us (4 adults & 3 kids) but was pleasantly surprised. Even though our bedroom was directly next to the kids, we weren't woken up by them so the sound-proofing was better than... More

Going back in two weeks time and bringing my brother and his family with us this time. Visited in April and had a fantastic and relaxing time as usual. Special mention to Gary and Lesley who own and run the bar/restaurant. They are so friendly and incredibly helpful and bent over backwards to help us with a special request we... More

Stayed over half term week and the park seemed really quiet and peaceful which was great. Lovely lodge we stayed in number 43 Helms Deep booked through welcome cottages. The lodge was great had everything we needed and lovely view over the lake. Highlight was seeing the Badgers at night right outside the lodge, this was through us leaving peanuts... More

We came to surprise a family member. The lodges are lovely and so comfortable. I haven't slept so soundly. We've also taken advantage of the facilities of a pub/restaurant, swimming pool and sauna. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The views are beautiful and it's so easy to relax. There's plenty to do away from the lodges too for couples,... More

Stayed in a lodge which sleeps 6 comfortably arranged through a friend of a friend. The location is great with beautiful scenery, stunning views and walks with plenty to do. The site is good and well maintained; facilities include a bar and restuarant serving good quality and tasty "pub grub"; a swinging pool and sauna; laundry facilities should you need... More

What a gem. I think many visitors to the area miss out not realising that non residents are welcome, even dogs ( there is a bowl of water at the entrance for four legged guests.) The food is fab with a wide choice, also wines. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and you are immediately made to feel at... More

Have just returned from a bank holiday break with our grandchildren and two dogs. A stunning location with outstanding views and some wonderful wildlife. The whole experience let down by a very old fashioned lodge. The whole place was carpeted a real no no for dog owners especially on a wet weekend like we had. Kitchen was minuscule and difficult... Just returned from our 2nd visit to barend this year, had a brilliant time on both occasions! This time we were 3 families, 18 people in total, and all really enjoyed the well appointed lodges, family friendly pool and amazing food at the barend bar restaurant. Location stunning, with so much to do for kids in the area (including the... More

Just spent Easter weekend in a log cabin here . The location is stunning and so peaceful with a 5 minute walk to an amazing beach . The chalet we stopped in was approx 35 years old so was not "modern" inside but everything you need for your stay is there . Although not dirty it could do with a... More
