The fishing cabins are mainly situated around the museum and restaurant, but there are 3 or 4 that are about 200m south away from the daily tourists making them very peaceful. Bathroom facilities are in there own block but this adds to the experience. We ate at the restuarant for breakfast, lunch and dinner as the food was so good.

Stayed here for two nights, the place is very authentic and well kept. Free use of rowing boat was very nice, we caught our own dinner both days. The rorbu itself was very nice but our bed was way too small for two people. The kitchen could also have been better equipped.

Nusfjord is a small Fisherman Village more than 100 years old. Where Cod where salted and stored before sold to Europe you now find the main restaurant. Nusfjord is a renovated authentic village now serving as a premium lodging facility for those not looking for a cheap deal. Because it is not cheap to stay and experience in Nusfjord, but... More

A great experience in an old fisherman's cabin. Simple, but nice room in a very old and listed building. A simple water tap outside the building. Beds up a ladder. No TV. New bathroom just 50 meters away. Fantastic landscape and the sea under the cabin!

This is my fifth visit to Norway and having stayed at numerous hotels I have to conclude that Norwegian hoteliers simply don't grasp the concept of hospitality. I've yet to rate a Norwegian hotel with more than 3/5 and from four hotels on this trip the trend continues. Don't get me wrong, Norway is a stunningly beautiful country and the... More

Stayed here for three nights, as a family of three. Our cabin (#36) was perfectly situated on the edge of the settlement with a splendid view of both the harbor area and sea. After several weeks of travel, we enjoyed having a kitchen to prepare our own breakfasts, pack a lunch, and make a simple dinner. (We flew in to... More

Beautiful setting, very nice preserved with lovely walks nearby. The accommodation is basic and very pricey - we thought we were getting two bedrooms and ended up with one (and the toilet was only accessible from the bedroom). There is a nice local food shop, tourist shop, restaurant and bar (although most don't open until 10 or 11 in the... More

If you enjoy remote areas this is the place to go, but we were a bit disappointed. The road trip to Nusfjord was stunning and Nusfjord itself is nice, but if you don’t spend the night you actually have to pay to get into Nusfjord as the whole area a museum. Our rorbu was not in the waterfront area, it... More

If you want something remote and authentic, the Nusfjord rorbuer is great. The location is stunning and really far from all. But service is non existent and there are no basics for longer stays ( laundry) nor for shorter ones ( hairdryer, soap and shampoo). The restaurant is good but not outstanding and very pricey, even by Norwegian standards. The... More

I'm having a hard time deciding on the rating of Nusfjord Fishermens cabins. The area itself is typical of Northern Norway and it IS a good thirty minutes drive from the nearest village. That in itself is a plus if you enjoy remote areas and want a feel for what it was like in times gone past. If you like... More
