If you want something remote and authentic, the Nusfjord rorbuer is great. The location is stunning and really far from all. But service is non existent and there are no basics for longer stays ( laundry) nor for shorter ones ( hairdryer, soap and shampoo). The restaurant is good but not outstanding and very pricey, even by Norwegian standards. The... More

I'm having a hard time deciding on the rating of Nusfjord Fishermens cabins. The area itself is typical of Northern Norway and it IS a good thirty minutes drive from the nearest village. That in itself is a plus if you enjoy remote areas and want a feel for what it was like in times gone past. If you like... More

We have a group of 12 and made a booking through an agency. The booking was made for three rooms with 6 to a room, meaning it booked for a group of 18 persons. When we spoke with the owner Iim, he was very reasonable and allowed us to cancel one cabin and stayed in two cabins only. What was... More

Tallying up the number of places that we have visited and recorded on Tripadvisor, I dear call ourselves experienced travelers. No other place we have been have we felt so over-charged for a stay. $15 to borrow a fishing line, $15 for a pint of beer, $50 for a main course, $200 for a shack.. wow. for those prices we... More

These are genuine refurbished fishermen's cabins so unless you have booked the more expensive luxury cabins they are fairly basic and may be quite cold out of summer months. Also expect to smell fish all the time. After our two nights stay our family found the cabin quite comfortable and suffiicient although basic. There is no television but this was... More

We actually did not stay, but we saw a few of the rooms and they were very cool. Some roooms are very large with plenty of room for big families. Others are more intimate for couples. Most importantly the views are spectacular ... The food is amazing and the village views are like a postcard. We were there for a... More

We stayed just for one night. But to tell you the truth, I could stay here for a long time. The scenery is beautiful. You overlook the fjord from most of the houses. The area is perfect for fishing and hiking. The house we stayed in was simple but beautiful, I can even say it was romantic. There was no... More

We stayed 2 nights in a cabin on the harbour (number 33). The cabin was basic but clean, more utilitarian than luxury. The three rooms - living room, bedroom and bathroom - opened off a central hallway. The rooms themselves were warm but the hallway was unheated which made for some very cold trips between rooms during the winter. We... More

We had 5 days in Lofoten Islands (fantastic landscapes and atmosphere!) and we stayed in two rorbuer villages (at Storvagen and at Nusfjord). The robuer we had were very comfortable: there are in reality a large cabin with two bedrooms, a living room + kitchen, bathroom with shower and hall (all on the same floor). You can so make your... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Experience an authentic fishing village (fiskevaer). In Nusfjord you can find most of the buildings which were part of one of Norway's eading fish buying stations of its time. Nusfjord has an intertwining building area, which evolved at the end of the 19th-Century and the beginning of the 20th-Century. Today we offer traditional rorbu cabins for lodging in authentic surroundings. The cabins have varying standards. CATEGORY A 1-2 bedrooms + living room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. CATEGORY A+ Brand new cabins (finished built spring 2007) with 2 bedrooms, living room with half lofts. Total capacity: 8 persons. CATEGORY B Sitting room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. CATEGORY C (Simple standard) Sitting room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Equipped kitchen. Short distance to shared shower and toilet facilities. No indoor water. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. Nusfjord has its own general store, a cosy inn and a restaurant. Rent of a cottage includes a rowboat, with which you can bring in your own catch. Then, at the cleaning benches on the wharf is the place to be to exchange fishing yarns. To get there you leave the main Federal Highway 10, halfway between Napp and Ramberg. Then, for the next 6 kilometres the county road winds through a beautiful and dramatic landscape. Make your Lofoten visit with us and we will assure you that it will be a memory of a lifetime. Welcome! ... more   less
