We stayed for one night on our way to Barkerville and it was fine. The owners are really kind and the price is okay. From the outside, it looks a bit washed. However, the inside is okay. It is dark, but perfectly clean. There's no airconditioning by the way! They do have free wifi.

Thank you for your pleasant review. We have air conditioning in every room, the remote to control the units is on the unit which is located straight ahead when you enter the room. If you prefer you may control it manually. These air conditioning units were installed new about 2 years ago. I am sorry you missed seeing them. More

This cozy little place was recommended to me by a colleague when I was informed that I would be working in the Hazelton area for 10 days. I am very particular about where I stay. Upon arrival, I had no reservations about the BV Motel at all. I was greeted very warmly by Barry the friendly owner who went over... More

Thanks for your review and the referral of your colleague who has booked! We have blow dryers, irons and ironing boards on request but clearly haven't done a good job of promoting that. It's on our website and we'll add it to the in-room signage. When the bathrooms were renovated a few years ago we considered the small blow dryers... More

Whenever I am in the Hazelton area I stay at the Bulkley Valley Motel. It is affordable, comfortable and the owners are courteous and friendly. For the business traveller the internet is fast and the desk area spacious. The beds are comfortable and with a kitchen unit you have everything you need ( a home away from home). The motel... More

Thank you for your kind comments! While our property isn't the prettiest from the outside, we have modern, comfortable and quiet rooms. It sounds like you enjoyed one of our rooms that includes a full sized kitchen. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Barry More

As a business traveller I always like to pick my "homes away from home" and rely on them to get me through the week. It's hard enough to do this job and a nice place to stay makes it bearable. This little motel has been in my rotation since I first found it a couple years ago. Never disappoints. You're... More

This is an older style motel on the highway and does not look all that great. However, we had a room with a full kitchen -- good because there is no on site food service but a grocery store next door. It was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the fridge next to the bed made noise during the... More

We're locals, but we recently rented out our house and moved away temporarily - and when we come back to Hazelton we've stayed in hotels. We've tried almost every one in the area and this Motel deserves it's #1 on trip advisor rating - it is the best! First - it is on the highway, easy to find. It is... More

We had a comfortable night's stay at the Bulkley Valley Motel while traveling through Canada with our dog. We were traveling in a large truck with a trailer, which we had to park across the street because of the smaller parking area outside the rooms. This did not end up being any problem. There is a grocery store within walking... More

I agree with the previous reviewers about the BVM. None of them, however, have mentioned that this older motel offers what many newer rooms lack - space! My room-for-one has a couch, a large bar fridge, a small dresses and a four-foot two-tiered desk. It is nice to have a place to open my bag and to lay out all... More
