Checked in 12.00ish Sat. and paid for the night - room not ready till 2.30...fine. Came back 7.30 to collect the key and be shown the room and had to wait 30 minutes before someone came to see us! 1 poor girl on her own serving the bar, checking in guests - and she was the chef! Went up to... More

We had an absolutely terrible meal here and were invited back to dine again. The second time around the ingredients were very high quality. I understand we were late for the Sunday Roast and it was all a bit dry. I would say if you want the best of sunday roast then go early. I seems like the proprietors are... More

A very average hotel but a low price compared to the rest of hotels in a Richmond . Close to the Thames and about 15 minutes walk from Richmond. Room was clean and bed comfortable. The big down side was that bedrooms don't have TV's which is a first for me.

I stayed as part of a group of 3 for 5 and a bit months between Nov-Apr. In that time I have overseen a change in management and a complete refurb of the hotel. So I am pleased to announce as I leave, that hotel/pub/restaurant couldn't be in better shape! Since the refurbishment I'd say things have come on leaps... More

Me and my partner spent a long weekend here recently, using Richmond as a base to explore London and felt compelled to write a review of our stay after such a great stay. The management (Tracey & Tom) couldn't do enough for us, made us feel completely welcome and tended to all of our needs. All of the staff were... More

We stayed here as part of a group attending a family wedding. The property is lovely, great people and good breakfast, but they don't know if they want to be a hotel or a pub and end up doing neither very well. The rooms are comfortable but towels were missing and fridge/hairdryer/showers not working. No t.v.s and limited bar opening... More

Stayed here for two nights. On arrival was given keys to a room which was already occupied. Was then told we would be upgraded for our trouble which turned out to be similar to the first room with an additional bed in it. After 15 minutes in the room staff informed us we would only have this room for one... More

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, we had a lovely room with our own terrace as hotel was quiet, 4 poster bed and en suite bathroom. The breakfast was tasty and the atmosphere relaxed. The entire hotel is surrounded by wild animals like foxes and squirrels. I found it a pleasant place to be. Would recommend.

My family and I went here for a spot of lunch on Saturday and even though the place was really busy we were kept well informed on how long it would be before our meal would be served which gave us plenty of time to sample the beers the rose of York has to offer (I especially recommend the organic...
