We had friends visit from up north and they booked into this "guest house". They took me to look around as they were so shocked at the place and have asked me to leave a review on their behalf. Because of the price they never expected 5* luxury but did think it would be clean and comfortable. The only thing... More

An awful hotel in the heart of Richmond. It smelled damp, the toilet was stained and the room as a whole was very depressive. The experience ruined what was suppose to be an amazing weekend in Richmond.

I had great experience at Hobart Hall. The view of the gardens and Thames reiver was magnificant. It was a budget hotel one saves money. Had great time at Hobart Hall. I was recommending this hotel for Asians and students.

I have just seen that Hobart Hall is closing in January. I am so sad as we had decided that it is a place that we should like to stay in quite regularly. I see there are a lot of poor reviews from past guests. What is their problem? Thank goodness for a hotel with character and architectural integrity.Yes,it is faded.I... More

I read the reviews and was expecting faulty towers, but found the staff kind and friendly, the breakfast fine and the location interesting. The room was fairly basic, but, all in all, I enjoyed the say and found it good value as a last minute purchase.

Website photo`s are very misleading do not believe that this is what Hobart Hall is like, only 1 luxury bedroom at the top of the stairs. We checked in to reception and were given 2 keys then was pointed to a side door no assistance with luggage was offered. We then made our way up 30 odd narrow winding stairs to... More

We came to see the Lady Gaga Concert at Twickenham. Firstly the web site says close to Twickenham, it took us 55 mins to walk it. Could not get a taxi as Richmond was gridlocked with traffic. The hotel is shabby, was not very clean, smelt a little, what staff there were, were very nice. Reception seems a little strange,... More

We were looking forward to our stay after looking at their website. But as we approached by road I wondered if we were heading for Fawlty Towers. I almost made a joke to that effect to my wife, but decided not to. Once inside, five minutes was enough to convince us to walk out and refuse to stay. The beds... More

Everything about the structure, stairways, doors, windows, decoration, furnishings, confirm that it is tired and in need of a great deal of renovation / attention. Constant Road noise. Serve continental breakfast unless you order cooked breakfast night before, costings don't match information supplied in room. Only one waitress, very pleasant but doing cleaning in between service.

I loved staying at this hotel. Great location, magnificent gardens, views across the river, a grand and stately old building, a warm welcome with discreetly excellent service. What I like most is the faded, almost colonial, feel to it all - a bit like staying in the E&O in Penang or the Galle Fort in Sri Lanka (in the good... More
