I have been staying here on a regular basis since January 2008 and still satisfied with everything. Tthe accommodation offered is good value for money. There is also a car park and additional off-road parking, both easily accessible. Photos now added more

I'm sitting here in a basic 'student room' and I've paid £30. I've got what I paid for which was somewhere to crash for the night with clean sheets and a big bath (down the hall). I stay here once a week and it does me fine. If you want the Ritz then go there and get your wallet out.... more

To call itself a hotel is a joke, run down 1 star B&B more like! My family and I had a large group of wedding guests staying here for my brothers wedding in Richmond. I have to say staying at this Hotel ruined what was otherwise a joyous occasion and I feel quite strongly that future guests should be warned... more

A very shabby hotel, seems to need complete refurbishment. Cracked and damp walls near to poorly fitted, loose electrical sockets. Cold bathroom with broken bath and dirty carpet. Draughty window and room door with inadequate lock. Corridor floor dangerously uneven with torn carpet. Unacceptable breakfast, had to make own drink with teabag in a cup! Small, steep parking area. This... more

The location is great in that it is just at the end of Richmond high street and convenient for the Thames, pubs etc. The hotel has no facilities - no restaurant, no bar, in fact it is nothing more than an overpriced glorified bed and breakfast. The breakfast room is quaint until you look at the furniture. The chairs are... more

Perhaps not a place for lovers of the sleek familiarity of hotel chains: a Dickensian place, but if somewhat sombre and perhaps a little shabby (as old piles are apt to be) it is most interesting, with curious furnishings, most unusual posters and prints on the walls; an excellent buffet breakfast, the best croissant I have ever had in England.... more

Excellent pricing for such a perfect location. River views and good breakfast. A one-minute walk from Richmond's restaurants, pubs and attractions. Friendly, hospitable staff and cosy atmosphere. more

Car park in front of hotel so steep on entering scraped along exhaust under car causing damage. Path to front door so badly broken, pot-holed and uneven caused an accident on arrival as I went crashing to the ground. Stair carpet loose, worn and dangerous. Bedroom carpet stained and worn, walls and ceilings had taped over peeling paper, room cold... more

Whilst my visit was for social and convenience purposes, I use many hotels of differing price levels in the course of my work and making comparisons between them is pretty well unavoidable. I found this place gloomy, vastly overrated in its own apparent estimation, and overpriced. Whilst the historical aspects of the building might be of interest the general ambience,... more

Not impressed. Looks more run-down than antiquated. Wanted to make myself a coffee in the morning and the two mugs that were on the side-table in the room had dregs of coffee left from previous guests. Car parking is extremely limited although I was found a space by the receptionist next door to the hotel. I had a bedroom at... more
