Richmond on Thames is a charming place to walk around in on a weekend, catching the flavor of young urbanites making their homes in the old buildings of a long-ago era. Red Cow pub is in one of those old converted buildings, and just the right distance for a walk to the village center and the banks of the Thames.... More

We (5 travelling adults) booked 2 rooms for one night in The Red Cow Richmond. Staff were great, very efficient, helpful and friendly. Rooms were well appointed. Continental breakfast basket in the room was lovely. Beds comfortable. Good shower. Only disappointment was that it was a little noisey from road traffic, and room was very hot. Would happily recommend this... More

Stayed for one night July 27th. Great welcome, beautiful room with 2 very comfortable beds. Lovely continental breakfast in fridge - lovely change from full English! Only problem was the chef was on holiday, so no food available, a shame, but didn't detract from the room. Will just have to stay there again!!!

Lovely, friendly welcome. Staff offered to help us to find the nearby attractions etc. The room was clean, and full of character - the perfect antidote to corporate Travel Lodge type hotels. THE comfiest bed I think I've ever slept in! TV, powerful shower, snacks in the fridge - and a pint of fresh milk. No fuss - just a... More

Arrived at 23.35pm after a 4 1/2 hour drive to be told that couldn't access my room as a lock on the staircase door to the rooms had jammed. Mgt called a Locksmith whilst I was there. After the Locksmith had drilled out the lock on the stairway door I was eventually able to get to my room around 00.30am... More

We didn't actually stay here but we came here for a meal on a Thursday. Great food , very reasonably priced for the area and great basic surroundings. I would visit this pub again for a meal and we really enjoyed it.

We had a nice night here at the start of our recent stay in Richmond. The pub downstairs was a fine place to grab some traditional fare, the service was friendly, and the location was convenient. Our room upstairs was small but tidy and had its own bathroom. There was a "continental breakfast" provided in the room's fridge, but when... More

We went for a meal with my son and daughter in law for my birthday. I ordered pork loin which was about six pieces of paper thin tough pieces of pork served on a bed of mash. My son ordered a steak which was so tough and dry you could have used it to sole your shoes. My husband ordered... More

Hi Shirley, I am sorry that your experience was not a good one. I know that there is no excuse for bad service but we did have a situation behind the scenes on that particular night which was unfortunately beyond our control. The bar manager on duty that evening offered you a refund on your meal which you accepted. He... More

I was not aware that the pub had rooms to rent as many other reviewers have stated. I went there with friends for Sunday lunch quite late in the afternoon. I remember as we had been turned away from other pubs in the area because it was past 3pm, and nobody served lunch at that time except the Red Cow.... More

Spent a Saturday night here as a base for visiting Kew in December. Arrived in the bar and was warmly greeted and shown to our room. The room was fair sized and comfortable. The location of the Red Cow is great, just on the edge of town but within easy walking distance. Parking was no trouble, parked outside the pub... More
