The only reason this is a 4 star hotel is because it has a golf course, the rooms are very small & only up to travle lodge standards, the accommodation tarrif is excessive for what you get. They have a sewerage problem, the rank smell premiates into the toilets of the bar & some guest rooms. The food was basic... more

Had the most amazing time at Rookery Manor. The place is absolutely magical, the gardens wonderful. The staff were great, there when you needed them, ready and waiting but not 'in your face'. The food and wine was first class. I can't think of a single negative comment to make. more

One of the best hotel experiences I've had this year. Fabulous room, great service, wonderful gardens, peaceful location and the best steak ever in the Truffles Restaurant - couldn't believe I was in Somerset! Tell your friends!! more

We had a wonderful stay at the Rookery manor last year. We stayed in no 21 and it was amazing. A four poster bed with a huge jacuzzi bathroom. The staff were very polite and friendly in the resturant and we have been back on many occasions to the resturant and hotel. I would definitely recommend this as a wedding... more

My partner and I have been to and stayed in many hotels in England and throughout the world. This has to be the most magical, tranquil and unspoilt location - we believe we have found a hidden treasure. We were invited to our friends wedding and were bowled over by the level of service, we; the guests' and the bride... more

This is undobtedly the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. If you are not a wedding guest (hardly the most discerning !) the hotel does nor really care. The first room we were offered was dirty - and rather reluctantly we were given another one. The hotel closed the restaturant on Saturday evening - but gave no... more

We attended our nieces wedding and reception, staying in the hotel for 2 nights. We stayed in one of their standard rooms. Ours was room 5 which is in the upper level of the barn convertion. On first appearances it was lovely. When you started to look things are not as wonderful as they would have you believe. The room... more

On reading the only other two reviews regarding Rookery Manor I had to add my comments. I was married here 13th May 2006 and had the most wonderful day possible. We held both the civil ceremony and reception at the venue and the staff were polite, attentive and well presented. The hotel and function areas are clean, tidy and tastefully... more

I have just won compensation from Rookery Manor in the County Court for my ruined wedding last April. The whole event was a disaster, they just don't care about their customers and showed no interest in the most important day of my life. The whole event was a disorganised shambles, the food was cold and the wrong wine was served.... more
