my daughter chose this hotel for her wedding. The facilities are really good and the public spaces very comfortable. Craig and the team could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The wedding food was fantastic but breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was the best ever. We had room 6 which was enormous and really sumptuous. The whole... More

Here with my family and getting married tomorrow. As the groom, expected a decent room. The bride and groom get room 8 which is a cupboard compared to my friend who got room 1 to himself - a room with a much bigger bed and which room 8 would probably fit in to 3 times over. Disappointed and very angry.

To agmcintosh & All readers of TA, FACT:-For the sake of parity & clarity please note that this was not a review for a Wedding or Event held at Tor-Na-Coille. It is an interesting blend of an old country house with open fireplaces, beautiful views and yet every bedroom furnished in a different style. The service is excellent, so is the food and the wine cellar! Their are a lot of little things they do to make you feel special. Phillip, the hotel manager is everywhere at the same time... More

We stayed on Saturday 9th May after booking through booking.com. We were immediately made feel welcome by the warm welcome from the duty manager Craig ( who was also on breakfast duty the next day ). The decor is very classy& our Saturday evening meal was first class. The old fashioned lift is a bit of a health hazard &... More

I live in Brighton but spent many years in Aberdeen and am back for a week's holiday and was so looking forward to having lunch at Tor-na-Coille. Took my miniature dachshund for a lovely woodland walk at Crathes and then on to Banchory. There are tables and chairs outside the Tor-na-Coille so I assumed that if they wouldn't allow my... More

Located 15 miles from Aberdeen city centre the hotel has a prominent position just on the outskirts og Bandhory. The rooms are well furnished and very very clean. The linen is high quality . The food was fantastic with a good selection of local produce. The breakfast was cooked to order so came fresh. Good selection of cereal and fruit.... More

Stayed in one of the larger suite rooms which was well appointed , clean and had good bathroom facilities . If you are booking a room with 'garden view' be aware that the hotel grounds are fairly limited in size and views are not really scenic as this hotel is located within Banchory rather than out on its own .... Excellent attentive staff who look like they enjoy their jobs. Tastefully decorated room comfortable bed peaceful quiet night finding that quite rare nowadays. The dinner was super locally sourced fish and beef would recommend eating in the restaurant. Was a busy Friday night and bar, restaurant and private dining all buzzing. Booked this for a date night with husband. We've been in a lot of these type of hotels. Pros: nice staff, good clean room, good food. Cons: fantastic dinner let down by bland puddings and tired cheese board which took a long time to arrive on a not very busy evening. tiny TV in room, weak shower. Small bath towels.... More
