A location to die for on the river Dee, we watched the fishermen catch salmon and breakfast time from the dining room. The room was a wee bit tired however still very nice and we slept well in a comfortable bed. Diner was OK not a gourmet experience but good enough. The one strange thing is for a hotel of... More

Stayed just the one night for a friend's wedding dance. First impressions of our room suggested things needed a little touch up. The overall look of the room was dated but we usually book modern newly refurbished hotels so perhaps I'm picky. We had a four-poster bed room, the bed was comfy and it was lovely to have a river... We attended a wedding here. This is much pricier than the hotels I would normally go for if I can avoid it, so I had high hopes which weren't completely met unfortunately, although it was very good in a lot of ways. The hotel itself is an attractive building - probably has an interesting story and has been re-purposed as... More

My mum and dad booked a private room for around 25 friends and family to help them celebrate their Ruby Wedding anniversary and I think I can say that we all had a really great time. The food was well received and the wine, selected by my dad, went particularly well and was very tasty. I often think that catering... More

We had a very pleasant 4 nights in this hotel. Room 30 in the annexe was most attractive with a wonderful view of the river and a very large and comfortable bed. It was so peaceful with the sound of the river sending us to sleep! My husband was delighted to see a fine salmon being caught as he strolled... More

The location at this site is just wonderful on the banks of the Royal Dee. Rooms are spacious and well appointed and the breakfasts are first class. The hotel has recently been renovated from slightly twee to modern but classy. My wife and I were going to eat in the restaurant on our first evening but complete chaos at the... More

When the sun us shining, this really is a fantastic location. It's not normally somewhere we'd stay because we only live 10 miles away but we were here for 2 nights for our friends wedding. The weather gods were kind enough to allow us to hold the ceremony outside on the grass by the river. I found the food to... More

We – a family with children - stayed at the Banchory Lodge in July 2015 for 1 night. The location is nice, close to the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful; even assisted with some travel advice. The room was spacious and clean, though certain wear and tear was noticeable. Free wifi is available. The lodge is lacking... More

Family dinner in the newly refurbished bar. Nice surroundings. The menu felt slightly overpriced though the food was good. Tables are in discrete booths around the edge of the bar area and decor great but why oh why was there a TV blaring on the wall ? The BL is all class but please get rid of the TV from... More

Dear jat45 Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review, delighted you enjoyed your visit. The TV should only be on in the bar when there are sporting events taking place and the sound should not be on at any time, so we have reiterated this to the front of house staff. Hope to welcome you... More
