We booked this hotel having previously stayed in a 3 star Best Western in Montrose (excellent), so expectations that the hotel in Banchory would be to the same standards. How wrong were we ! Have never stayed, but the cheeseburgers are great. The staff are friendly and soup on the menu changes every day. Always a good sign ! Lots of ladies of a certain age with hats on. Another good sign, how many establishments survive without the "and she said" brigade ! They are most choosy and will always "out" a good scone... more
