We stopped off here for dinner on a trip to Aberdeen, and both had a burger. It was tasty and seemed to be good quality. However, the staff were rather brusque and dithered a lot. Service took a while, despite the restaurant being quiet. All in all, it was ok, but if I'm eating in Banchory again, will probably try... More

Stayed here, as where family members wedding was nearby was full. We booked the family room for myself my partner and our 7 year old. Arrived early and as we were told over the phone the room was not ready. Staff very pleasant and advised that bar would still be open if we returned before 1am. Staff showed us where... More

I had a short stay here when working in the area. when I went into this hotel I was lost right away, and it had been a few years since my last visit, there was obviously renovations being done to the reception area but there was no notices to direct guests to check in, I stood in the bar area... Visited today with my daughter for lunch . I had a ploughmans which was nice lovely bread let down slightly by the chutney, My daughter had homemade soup and a sandwich perfectly adequate for the price. My biggest problem with the visit was the heating in the bar area was not on. I had to put my jacket on! The... More

We haven't stayed here but eat quite regularly in the bar/bar lounge area. Service is always excellent, food great and the early bird specials, 2 courses for £9.99 and 3 courses for £11.99 are unbeatable value around Banchory. Definitely worth a visit.

Liked the look of Banchry so decided to stop on way home to Aberdeen. Only hotel with rooms available, check-in staff very helpful. Once we saw the room it went downhill, mattress looked like a futon on and bed appeared to be uncomfortable. We did try to change rooms but only a twin available and didn't want that. But wow... Pleasant staff, helpful receptionist. The room (double) was spacious enough though as mentioned in other reviews, could do with a little upkeep. Opening the window in the bathroom revealed a sealed off area of brick and rubble. The weather outside was muggy and the room was far too warm, with no obvious means of cooling it down. The bed was... More

I have eaten here on many occasions and always found the food to be of an excellent quality. Staff have always been so very attentive and helpful. The owner Mr Ross and his assistant Kirsty lead their team well. Mr Ross can be slightly eccentric , but in a good way ! Would defiantly recommend the Douglas Arms. I also... More

I have mixed feelings writing this review. The staff are quite good and friendly, the pub is a nice place for a beer but the rooms are just shocking. We had room 4 and as the photos show the bathroom is past rescue. Broken tiles on the floor, a water heater from 1982, a squeaky double bed and walls so... More
