Stayed here whilst on Hadrian's wall walk as less than a mile from the trail. The house is gorgeous, shower worked perfectly (important after a day walking) and the room was spot on. I particularly like the console either side of the bed with power points and usb for charging the all important gadgets! Breakfast was very good, I can... More

I arrived at Abbey bridge b and b to a warm welcome off the owner, and was shown to my immaculately clean and spacious room. The building is beautiful and consists of the main house plus the building next door, which are situated in a fantastic location next to the River Irthing. There was a set three course meal served... Quaint little B&B with comfy but small rooms, good breakfast and great location for Hadrian's Wall and the Abbey. I would probably give a higher rating were it not for the slightly awkward reception we received when checking in. Due to our plans we arrived not long after the check in time and we made to feel like we were... More

We are sorry that you found your welcome slightly awkward. We pride ourselves on being friendly and helping people with their requirements. It's very difficult to remember a specific occurrence 6 months after the event, however we will take your comments on board.. More

Stayed here for one night while we hiked along Hadrian's Wall. The host was friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. Quick taxi ride into town if you want a pub meal or atm but also close to Lanercost Abbey for some history and also, important for us, close to the path we were hiking on.

My son and I stayed for 1 night whilst walking Hadrians Wall. We had a lovely room overlooking the old (and new) bridge. Tim arranged a taxi for us to Brampton and we ate in 1 of the pubs, we had no phone signal most of the previous day so were unable to book an evening meal at our accommodation.... More

I stayed here for one night on my recent walk of Hadrian's Wall. Very comfortable room, with a good sized ensuite, and a bed that gave me the best sleep of my trip. I was the only visitor that evening, so Tim drove me to a super pub in a fellside village for dinner, with the chef/landlord running me back.... More

Another nice old stone building (actually 2 buildings), very close to Lanercost Priory, on a small country road, and convenient for Hadrian Wall Path walkers. Rooms were reasonably priced. My room was a small en suite meant for a single, with a small but perfectly functional bathroom. The bed was comfortable. There was virtually no traffic outside at night, resulting... More

Tim has this one down to a tee! We stayed here for two nights during our 15 day road trip across Northumberland, Scotland & Hadrian's Wall Country and it was by far our favourite! We stayed in the Old Smithy - self contained part - and it was beautifully appointed. The rooms were lovely and we particularly appreciated the "honesty"... More

A stop during our Hadrian's wall hiking, a little bit away from the path, during a rather atypically British hot summer period. Authentic and very comfortable and clean accomodation. An excellent 3 course menu is served. Friendly staff.
