We stayed for 3 nights and found this Inn to be comfortable and friendly. The room was beautiful, clean, a great shower and the bed was so soft. We had the Tiny Tim room, all the rooms are named after characters from A Christmas Carol as Charles Dickens had stayed there. A good choice of breakfast and very tasty. The... More

We only stayed at the Howard Arms one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer! The food was some of the best of our two week trip. The room (Tiny Tim) was very cute and very clean. If you are making a trip to Hadrian's Wall I would recommend staying a night or two here.

Don't knock this small hotel because as small hotels go this is pretty good. well thought through in terms of rooms, which are new and modern. It is in the town so still has some noise until late evening but then as with most small towns in quiet in the morning :-) Food was OK and hosts were friendly (including... More

Very disorganised at the front desk/pub bar. Room dirty with no attention from the domestic staff on two days dispute pointing it out The rooms at the front are over the pub bar and are pretty noisy until midnight. Rally only survives as a hotel as there's no competition for it, what a sorry state of affairs. We visit Brampton... More

I booked this hotel for a single night and due to hold ups it meant I could not arrive till mid-night. After a quick call the owners themselves stayed up to let me in and were very welcoming on a cold and bitter night. The room was absolutely excellent considering the relatively budget price, lots of nice little touches like... More

Food in the restaurant was good and plenty of it as well. The breakfast choice was very good from continental to full traditional English Parking was good... More

We stayed here for several nights while walking Hadrian's Wall. The room was fine for the budget price, comfortable, clean with good shower. Can never understand why these places can't put up a couple of shelves for cosmetics in the bathroom, though. Staff are friendly and helpful on the whole and we had excellent sandwiches for our walks. Breakfast pretty... More

Found this on laterooms.com after being stuck in horrendous traffic for 5hours making my driving day 12hours! Pulled in, greeted by a lovely blonde lady behind the bar, took down my credentials and didn't ask for money up front, and asked if I wanted a tab set up - excellent!! She took down what time I wanted dinner (7:30) and... More

After reading some dubious reviews and as a young couple holidaying with parents with our baby we were really looking for somewhere with good food and a few baby free drinks. We were dropped off in the village and to be honest the Howard arms was our last choice considering the reviews. We went inside and there was a lovely... More

Decided to take my family to this so called establishment for a meal after looking at the menu which appeared to be worth a try, well what a mistake that was!!The service & food were terrible, one member of staff taking order's & serving behind the bar!! Asked for 2 starters to share between us, ended up with 1 starter... More
