The service here is good, cannot fault it but the food is fairly average and uninspiring. Okay for a stop off if you are hungry but nothing special. Difficult to get near the bar to order! In a great locartion for views, walking etc.

A favourite pub of mine mainly because the quality of the beers on offer, there is always a guest beer well kept and well presented. The pub is a cosy traditional house with ample dining space ideal for a couple or family meal, the food is of a good standard and offers a varied selection of dishes but I am... More

It was a lovely day so we decided a drive out in the hills and enjoy the nice weather... Could not fault the food, beautiful, traditional pub grub... Roast beef melted in your mouth and the chips are heavenly! Lovely service too. Will be trying again 👍

Lovely warm fires on a snowy day in this out the way pub. Friendly service. We had some bar food, the portions were good and the food was tasty. Nothing to write home about but very pleasing on the day.

I travel extensively throughout the UK for work and must say this is by far the most welcoming place I have ever stayed. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here on New Years Eve and I must say we have never been made to feel more welcome. The room was very pleasant and the bar area was... More

I have been to the Stanley arms a few times with friends after walking in the area. It is always a pleasure to go there on a sunday and have the full sunday roast. There is a choice of meats and each plate comes laden with all the trimmings. Lovely food cooked well. Definitely up there for me as one... More

The rooms were lovely we were in a party of four and the rooms are in a converted barn next door to the lovely quiet pub. The food in the restaraunt was exceptional as was the breakfast in the morning.

We were looking for somewhere close to the hills to do some serious walking & have some good grub & when we finally arrived at the Stanley Arms we were greated by a roaring fire & friendly locals! We stayed two nights & it is safe to say we did more eating than walking but Carolin's food was just incredible,... More

After a long journey all I wanted was a cosy warm seat by an open fire with some wholesome good food and a pint of real ale. My partner and I arrived and we weren't let down at all. We were greeted by Judith and a many smiles from locals in the main bar. The open fires were warm and... More

A very friendly pub with a good menu. Sadly the food didn't quite live up to expectations and service was not the quickest; in fairness there were a number of diners and only two staff. The pub is still worth a visit if you're in the area.
