A perfectly clean, adequate guest house that serves a decent breakfast. Completely spoiled, however, by the Basil Fawlty manner and attitude of the owner on arrival. We booked online two rooms for two nights and arrived just before the check in time to a unfriendly, cold welcome. Owner only had record of one night and told us to come back... More

Charming guest house and attic room had a marvellous view of the bay. Within easy reach of the town centre. Hosts are very charming and made us feel very welcome. The hearty breakfast stood us in good stead. Thank you to Mary, Philip and staff.

Stayed at Shelleven last weekend of June. Hosts really friendly and helpful. The choice of breakfast was excellent and rooms very clean. Close to local facilities but in a quiet location. Would recommend it to anyone staying in or near Bangor. Wouln't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Mary, Phil and staff. From Anthony in Wales.

Our stay here was fairly surprising. The Hosts here very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms are adequate but spotless! The beds are fantastic, we really did not want to get out of them in the morning. The location is great just a short stroll from the beautiful marina and a large array of shops , pubs and... More

House Saturday night 10/26/2013 Belfast jammed.. From net found Shelleven House in Bangor - close enough and little waterfron area. Area with many closed storefronts. Limited eating other than hotels. Rooms - we had two nice king beds with open view in one twin bed in other - smaller twins than we experienced in Ireland. Clean and neat Cooked to... More

If you are searching for an excellent B & B for your trip to Bangor, stay at the Shelleven Guest House. The owners, Philip and Mary, are classy four star people. For any questions we had about the area, they knew or found the answers. We were treated very specially, but were given our space in the guest house. Breakfasts... More

I stopped here for 2 nights with work and had early starts so I would be missing breakfast, so the lady had made me and my mate some sandwiches up for the day. The rooms were very clean and made up each day. All in all a great little place.

Took the superior double option and got a lovely, large and sunny room with a view. Easy walking access to the marina, coast walk and town centre. Our hosts, Mary and Phillip congenial, friendly and helpful with advice about booking and the like. Wifi was a bit hit and miss in the room, but good signal downstairs.
