Great room, lovely & clean! Philip & Mary were very welcoming & friendly. Our room was lovely and warm with great facilities. The breakfast the next morning was simply delicious we both had the Ulster fry....and it was soo tasty!! Was cooked to perfection and the Full Breakfast was not greasy at all. Just returned from a long weekend staying at the Shelleven guest house in Bangor, Co Down. The owners Philip and Mary Weston looked after us well. Our accommodation was an ensuite family room on the first floor with fantastic views towards the sea and Bangor harbour. The room was very spacious and clean with all the usual amenities such as... Rooms are very old fashioned with little notes everywhere instructing guests to "switch off" this or that - how mean! I had a tiny, dark single room. Breakfast was fine except I had said I did not want a sausage. When it came there was a sausage on my plate. Philip overheard me mentioning this to my friends (I did... More

Nice welcome, and good breakfast. Rooms very dated/old-fashioned but clean. Good value. However, our stay was spolied when landlady insisted on charging our trip organiser for some rooms that were not taken even though it was a quite weekend and B&B was not full. For instance I stayed only one night instead of 2 because of business. our group WILL... More

My wife and I stayed at the Shelleven B&B while visiting Belfast. The Shelleven is beautiful, with quality furniture and many antiques. Our 2nd floor room had a view of the ocean. Parking was on the property, right in front. Town and restaurants were on the harbor, a short walk away. Breakfast of crepes with lemon, castor sugar, and golden... More

I booked Shelleven house recently on behalf of a group of friends from my local car club who were traveling as part of a club weekend away. I am a originally from Bangor and had talked the group into staying here as opposed to our usual stay in Belfast - I thought it good to support my local small town... More

Thank you for your review. While we are always grateful for customer feedback, we feel that there are a number of inaccuracies and exaggerations that should be highlighted. What a pity that you did not express any misgivings when you spoke to me at Shelleven House on the Saturday morning. I thought the conversation was amicable, maybe even friendly! You... More

Thank you so much to Mary and Phillip, such a relaxing stay in Bangor. Comfortable, fresh and clean room, great choice for breakfast. Fabulous peaceful location yet just a short hop from the marina. No hesitation in recommending The Shelleven!

My elderly Mum was over from England and stayed for 11 days. Like home from home. So glad we picked Shelleven House. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Good location and superb breakfasts. All round excellent!

My Wife and I stayed for a period of three days whilst visiting family. Location is very convenient just a short distance by foot to the coast line and Marina. Set in a tranquil location for a peaceful and undisturbed nights sleep. Owners and staff very amenable without being overpowering. The guest house is very clean and tidy, yet still... More
