This is more of a boutique hotel than a B&B, refined and quirky at the same time, with great attention to detail. The house is beautiful, and the rooms are cosy and luxurious with lots of extra details. It's a house full of surprises, from the home made cake and extensive DVD library at the top of the stairs, to... More

We have just returned from two nights in this peaceful haven. This is a very unique guesthouse with a rare mixture of luxury and charm. The rooms are gorgeous from crisp bedding to fluffy robes and sumptuous toiletries and the breakfasts are on a par with a five star hotel. The owners Jenny and Chris could not have been more welcoming and... Wow is all I can say about the Cairn Bay Lodge. I was pleasantly surprised. The Cairn Bay Lodge is situated right overlooking Ballyholme Bay and beach in Bangor. Tremendous spot for walks along the seafront and even a couple of local pubs nearby with charm and Guinness (Jamaica Inn and Esplanade). But the real attraction lies in the rooms... More

This is a belated review. We enjoyed an overnight mid-July at this beautiful home overlooking Ballyholme Bay. It combined elegance and a lovely warm ambience. Our rear bedroom was very spacious, light and airy with a view of the delightful rear garden. Seating was more than ample and the bathroom provided a luxurious range of handmade toiletries. We enjoyed the... More

Just got back from a cold and windy trip to Bangor and just had to say what a wonderful B & B this is. It really is a home from home with super comfy beds, amazing breakfast, friendly owners and wonderful views (from the seaview rooms anyway). The house is so interesting with lots of unique features and lovely touches.... More

The cairn bay lodge was a last minute decision to see if they had any room. They did and boy! What a surprise! She showed us two rooms to look at, both very charming with very special touches...some I want to incorporate at our house... The breakfast was way beyond good--it was fantastic! Being coffee lovers, we so enjoyed the... More

Just back from a short 2 night stay at this fabulous place. We are rather inclined to stay in hotels, particularly those of the 5 star variety - so a B&B was a change for us. Well, as the title may suggest it was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like very... More

Have to travel with work quite often and it was a real treat to stay somewhere that wasn't a corporate hotel. From the second I arrived the service and welcome was second to none. The whole place is full of personality and charm, with stylish touches throughout. Every room is different and has its own feel. The rooms are full... More

We stayed in the lodge for 2 nights. Beautiful stylish house, on a quite spot near the beach and at walking distance from several restaurants. The house has a unique atmosphere with lots of quaint objects which creates a wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast is one of the best we had during our 3-week stay in Ireland and North Ireland. Certainly recommended.
