I had gone there with the future mother in law. The menu had great variety and tasted unbelievable. The only criticism is it took quite a while to get the food but to be honest it was worth the wait. For dessert we shared the chocolate platter, if you go it is an absolute must especially for the chocolate lovers!

we had sea view room, over looking the boat house, lovely view. Room was faultless. Best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel, best service I've ever had any where in the world, the staff couldn't do enough and nothing was to much trouble, great experience, will be back.

A really friendly and quirky spot to spend some time. Lovely views from the bar and restaurant and food to match. Try the house lager and enjoy a different vibe from the big house breweries. Will definitely make a return trip.

Went to the salty dog last night, a 50th birthday meal. Service poor, waited over 40 minutes for our meal, one was wrong, waited 30 minutes for our sweets, food expensive but just ok, the service overall let the whole experience down, Will not be returning, not a relaxing enjoyable evening at all.

Party of four went for dinner. The staff were friendly and efficient. The main courses were very good but then we foolishly ordered desert. The chocolate ganache with icecream was three blobs on the plate, fair enough. The cheesecake was also three blobs on the plate with a sliver of ginger cake stuck on top, presumably deconstructed but it didn't... More

My husband and I stayed here overnight. The room was at the front overlooking the marina. It was individually decorated and lovely to see some strong colours instead of beige. I loved the decor. We ate our evening meal here, my only comment was my dessert. I had a caramel and popcorn sweet there was a small amount of caramel... More

Stayed at the Salty Dog for 2 nights in early September with my husband. We had a deluxe sea view room. The view from the room was fantastic, almost 180 degrees of coastal views. The room was clean and spacious, with even a few candles to enjoy in the bath. We were very pleased with our stay at The Salty... More

Recently enjoyed a fabulous 'game' special menu at the Salty Dog. Friendly courteous staff and exquisite food made for a memorable night. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Digest with a walk along the coast towards Ballyholme bay and all is good with the world.
