We were over to visit family and having previously stayed at the marine court .we decided to give the salty dog a try this time around .the hotel is in a great location right beside the marina . Parking can be a problem, there is a free car park nearby but it is way to small for the volume of... More

I was passing through Bangor recently for work and based on a recommendation from someone we popped in for coffee & scones.... We really liked the spot and came back again for lunch.... It didn't disappoint. We both had the fish & chips and it was soooo tasty. Good quality fresh fish and a lovely crispy batter. Really enjoyed every... More

Excellent food and attentive service. Absolutely first class breakfast. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and pleasant. The bedrooms however do need a revamp! Our room had an awful bed, distressed furniture, nasty shower curtain, poor shower but an excellent sea view. I really want to give them top marks because they try so hard, but the infrastructure lets them down. Wouldn't... More

Stayed here while on business recently and would definitely stay again, boutique style with eclectic mix of antique furniture in the rooms with a more contemporary feel in the public areas.I had booked a standard room but Mandy who checked me in upgraded me to a sea view room which was great, amazing views and tons of space so I... Myself, my wife and 2 children visited the Salty dog on Sat 27th June as the Sea Bangor festival was running and we decided to give the over priced BBQ and drink tents a miss and get some food in the hotel. Before you consider going to the hotel for food, be aware that they allow DOGS in the eating... More

The Salty Dog is a welcoming establishment with friendly staff but unfortunately the quality of the food being served is very disappointing. Have dined there a few times in recent months I have to say what we were served up on Saturday night was nothing short of a disgrace for the price of the food. Granted the starter maybe wasn't... I stayed for the night with my husband and have to say from start to finish everything was fantastic. ... the staff were friendly and very helpful. ... the view from the room was outstanding. ... even though the room wasn't ultra modern it was spotless and very homely. .. I had a fantastic nights sleep. Our evening meal was... More

Have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions with my wife for lunch and dinner and have been pleased with the consistent service and quality of the food. There are good views of the bay from some window tables which adds to the experience on a nice summer evening. There are always specials of the day to add... More

Stayed for one night in a standard double , needed a little TLC but that was my only criticism. Staff were faultless, attentive and couldn't do enough to help. Had dinner here can honestly say best fish pie ever , compliments to the chef . Lovely location and would definitely stay again .

Overnight stay in may for my birthday. Great, friendly atmosphere from start to finish. Receptionists took time to have a friendly chat both in checking in and checking out. Even showed us to our room. Great start! Room was so homely. Even had a jar of cookies with our tea or coffee. Breakfast was more than your average. Great choice and... More
