Visited this restaurant for lunch! Didn't think it lived up to the reviews we had read about it. A bit over priced and the portions were on the small side! It was quite busy and the service was very slow, I don't think we will be inclined to rush back!

RESERVATIONS: I booked this hotel on 16th January 2014 for 12th April the booking was confirmed by email, however when I rang during this week to reserve a table in the restaurant there was no room booked – after a few calls made by reservations I had confirmation I now had a room. ROOM 8: HORRENDOUSLY POOR STANDARDS!! - Used... More

What a lovely place location superb. On arrival had a very warm welcome rrom the lady on reception, the rooms were all different quirky but clean and comfy. Dinner in the restaurant was first class with a very varied menu and faultless service. Breakfast did not dissapoint I recommend the Eggs Benedictine. Will def visit again.

We were on a hen weekend for 8...The Salty Dog staff are 2nd to none! From a quick call the week before from both the manager and the bar manager to the smiley waitress on Saturday, every member of staff was amazing! On arrival we were taken around our rooms and told if there was anything we needed (even an... More

St. Patricks Day morning we came to Salty Dog for breakfast but weren't afforded the chance to try the food . . The waitress was under pressure and asked to wait in the hotel reception until a table was made up, this wasn't a problem but as we walked out to the reception we past quite a few empty already... I ate here on Thursday 13th with my husband and 1yr old. As pub grub goes we both really enjoyed our food. We were able to order mash spuds and gravy for £2 for our son, which was a great price. The staff were lovely and didn't make us feel awkward for having a child with us. Although our son... More

The food presentation and quality was definitely Masterchef and front of house (David, Robin and the rest) are excellent! Location by the Marina is outstanding and the price very reasonable if taking the earlybird or as we were on an Internet voucher. I'll be back (to coin a phrase).

I have dined at the Salty Dog before, and was looking forward to the same good food and service. Unfortunately we waited a long time for food, which failed to impress once it had arrived. ... At least the triple cooked chips were good. I may try again some time, but my confidence has been dented.

We have just returned from a great overnight stay at The Salty Dog. I must say customer service makes all the difference and Salty Dog certainly goes that extra mile! On checking in Maeve was wonderful in welcoming us and filling us in on where and what to do. It was when we sat down to dinner that I realised... More
