Visited this place last week and was impressed although service was slow. It is nicely designed and set beautifully beside the water. The sun set is amazing. Enjoyed it so much decided to return with a few friends. This time I was very let down with the service. The young waitress who served us came straight over to take our... More

Called in today for lunch and was really impressed by the welcome from the staff for both two and four legged friends. Great food, excellent variety, and beautifully presented. Looking forward to the next time

Loved this place from start to finish. We were welcomed and shown to a lovely table overlooking the harbour. Menu was classic yet interesting - apple ketchup. Great choices for children, well beyond chicken nuggets & chips! I had the battered fish and chips - the fish was sizeable with a very light batter. Chunky chips, mushy peas and tartar... More

Went for the deluxe room and got two of the best features of Victorian seaside properties: wonderful high ceilings and huge bay windows. That's where the resemblance to old-school Bangor guest houses ends, though. This is a well-equipped contemporary hotel with an unstuffy atmosphere, comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. One caveat: the floorboards seem to register very footstep, as we... More

Absolutely wonderful stay here- great accommodations, great food and warm, friendly people, especially Maeve on the front desk. Location to transport was ideal. Location of hotel lends to being able to walk or jog within hotel distance. Waterfront view is an extra bonus. I was born in Bangor and staff googled areas for me and printed the maps.

This hotel definitely has style. Rooms are spacious with beautiful views of Bangor Marina, although they might feel slightly dated. Service is excellent, with everyone doing their best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel's bistro (where breakfast is served) is lovely. Meals and bar snacks/bites are consistently sumptous.

I recently stayed at the Salty Dog (Bank Holiday Weekend, Sunday 25th May 2014) for one night, bed, breakfast and evening meal with my partner. We have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions and as expected on our arrival was not disappointed with the warm and friendly greeting received. After checking-in we were shown to our room,... We took a short break here and enjoy our stay. Our room had been recently refurbished and it was good style and finish. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. What really got our eye was the attention to detail and presentation of the food . Hats off to the staff and Chef.
