My husband and I stayed here overnight. The room was at the front overlooking the marina. It was individually decorated and lovely to see some strong colours instead of beige. I loved the decor. We ate our evening meal here, my only comment was my dessert. I had a caramel and popcorn sweet there was a small amount of caramel... More

Stayed at the Salty Dog for 2 nights in early September with my husband. We had a deluxe sea view room. The view from the room was fantastic, almost 180 degrees of coastal views. The room was clean and spacious, with even a few candles to enjoy in the bath. We were very pleased with our stay at The Salty... More

Recently enjoyed a fabulous 'game' special menu at the Salty Dog. Friendly courteous staff and exquisite food made for a memorable night. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Digest with a walk along the coast towards Ballyholme bay and all is good with the world.

This is my third and best visit to the Salty Dog. The atmosphere was buzzing, the service, friendly, and the food, simple, yet beautifully cooked and presented. We missed the main lunch menu, coming in later at 3pm on Saturday, so went with the bar menu, which was very good. The desserts had a surprising edge- creme brulee with mint... More

Visited here with the family for unplanned Sunday afternoon drinks and snacks. There is a great selection of drinks especially local craft ales and cocktails which we were happy to work our way through. Along with them we had a selection of bar snacks. Food was good especially the boneless wings and triple cooked chips. We didn't feel the cheeseboard... More

I went there with my husband last weekend. Lovely place and staff were amazing, friendly and went out of their way to please us. We were late for dinner and the chef even put on a dinner for us after serving time! Fry in morning is delicious!

We visited the hotel previously in 09 and we were very disappointed so when there was a fab online discount site offering it we thought we would chance our luck. The hotel has changed in so many ways that it is like a different place. Reception and bar staff were welcoming. Rooms are what is expected from a boutique hotel... More
