Have not been here in a long time & have say never be back. Staff our lovely, location great but food such a let down! 3 of us who had the Pate have been very ill, when it arrived to the table I could tell by looking at it that it was not right. The middle of the pate was... More

was there with a group of friends, had been bit uncertain as to which menu we would be able to order from (i can be fussy), but all menus available. Everyones meals were lovely, great buzz about the place, service was great, and cocktail of the month, fantastic. We just moved to the bar seating after our meal rather than... More

We stopped at The Salty Dog for a quick lunch. Upon first glance it didn't really look like the kind of place I'd choose but inside it was quite pleasant. All four of us chose the seafood chowder which was delicious, if a little creamy. Service was prompt.

The last reviewer obviously had a better experience than I did. Perhaps I should have spoken to Barbara instead? I provisionally booked a room here and was offered it for £89 (B&B only) but because I had vouchers I was asked to confirm with Pamela (the manager) when she returned from sick leave if discount could be offered on the... Just stayed the one night but had a lovely stay and very enjoyable dinner. The woman at reception, Barbara, went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one! Will definitely be back next time we're looking for a relaxing evening without kids....

In terms of quality of service, location, and the gorgeous breakfasts, this hotel is absolutely first class. However if you are staying here heed the following word of warning, whatever you do avoid room 9 at all costs. Whilst the room itself is fine, the bed has got to be the most hard and uncomfortable I have possibly ever slept... More

Called in for coffee on a dull Sunday morning. We got a warm welcome and a good quality coffee was served with a smile. Lovely surroundings, a step up from a coffee shop. The ambience was relaxing and we didn't feel rushedx, even though it was clear that they were getting ready for a busy lunchtime. Next time we'll try... More

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome along with our little dog who was brought water and some treats without us asking. We sat in the lounge which had a great casual dining atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
