We have stayed here many times over the years including when it was privately owned prior to Brains Brewery taking it over.We have always enjoyed our stays until March when we had a number of issues with service (the food has always remained brilliant!). We returned to try here again last week for 2 nights and our stay was thoroughly... More

Having read the other reviews we expected something pretty special but it is no surprise that there are no pictures of Room 10. The broken window was taped up, the bathroom blind was broken, the bathroom ceiling was in a dreadful state and the bed took up 90% of the room and one person had to climb over the other... More

First of all, thank you for your review, if a little harsh. Granted, room 10 is not the largest of rooms (as reflected in the price) and is in need of a little attention. As a direct response to your comments, we have taken the room out of service and are currently in the process of upgrading it's appearance and... More

I dined here a couple of months ago with some friends, I'm a local but I'd never eaten here before, but having been invited by a friend who works here, I knew I had to finally try it. I'd heard for a long time how good the food was but now I'd get to sample it, well I certainly wasn't... More

Had a very nice break at this hotel. I stayed here because my original choice was full and I've always rather liked the look of the Penhelig having eaten there a couple of times. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very nice in the evening and breakfast was particularly nice, the restaurant has a... More

Fab hotel, where the staff cant do enough for you, not just doggy tolerant like some hotels but actually doggy friendly, great atmosphere in the bar and a lovely selection of freshly made food available, well done to all at the Penhelig Arms

We stayed at the Penhelig Arms for one night as part of a trip to Aberdovey with our two dogs. Plus points were the quiet location, the view from the room, the bathroom, particularly the fab shower and a nice breakfast. However, on the downside we stayed in room 6, which is admittedly advertised as a small double. We did... More

We were recommended this place by family and used a TravelZoo deal for a very good DBB package. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent with an amazing range of local seafood. We had the only room at the back of the hotel (the others all face the sea) but even our room had a small sea view and... More

Husband and I have stayed two nights in room 15 and loved it, literally just what the doctor ordered. I have some health issues and asked for a room with easy access, they couldn't have been more accommodating. We were given a fantastic room on the ground floor, parking just outside. Private patio, massive room and the most enormous and... More
