Called in the Penhelig whilst visiting Aberdyfi for the day. Thought it would be good to pick up a brochure for a possible stay. As there was a sign outside saying coffee being served we thought that would be good. We found a table but after being ignored by staff I approached a young waitress who was very unhelpful and... This was our second stay with friends at the Penhelig, this time the experience was much improved, even though we stayed in the smallest rooms which were adequate, comfortable and with lovely views of he estuary. We ate in the bar on both nights of our stay, the service was friendly and professional, the food was excellent in both quality... More

Myself and my boyfriend ate here a few days again, my burger was quite large, salad should have just been called 'lettuce' and as for his main of gammon, egg and chips, the portion sizing was abysmal! Food tasted nice though, waiting staff were rather average. The place was nothing particular to brag about.

We have just returned from having dinner. The service initially was ok .Our order taken promptly. Our starter and main course arrived within acceptable times and were indeed delicious. Our plates were cleared away and then we sat and waited and waited ...........No one appeared to offer us a desert menu ( by this time (8.30) apart from us ,the rear... More

This is an old inn overlooking the estuary and on the outskirts of the very pleasant village of Aberdovey. The room I was in was very small - indeed the smallest hotel room I have been in for many years. there was only a width of about 6 feet across where the double bed was thus not leaving much room... Stayed for 2 nights in June in Bodhelig suite. Very impressed with the room & enormous bathroom. Views are amazing & we spent a lovely afternoon on the private terrace enjoying a drink or 2!! Food was also very good &.the staff very friendly & helpful. Will definitely recommend this great place & hope to return again soon

Our third stay at this great little hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, food excellent and rooms, though small, have all you need and views to die for. Conveniently close to the railway station and the superb little train that runs a few feet from the beautiful coastline.

We stayed for one night after cycling the Wolverhampton to Aberdovey Charity Bike Ride. Good views of the sea front from the room. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast excellent. We went out for evening meal - by the looks of the hotel menu and the restaurant area I would recommend booking a table in the hotel. Hope to return next year.
