We stayed here for 2 nights and was very happy with the service, and room! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs. Lovely family run place which gives it that homely feel. Nothing was to much trouble, even down to the selection at breakfast (special diet requirements) lots of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and cooked breakfasts to... More

I had an excellent stay up here 7th and 8th July. The hotel is very close to the promenade, it is very clean and welcoming and has everything you could want for a short stay. The hotel is very nicely furnished, clean, and has a lovely garden at the back. Breakfast is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Of... More

Fabulous room and comfy fresh bed, wee garden area to chillout, quiet and comfortable and run by lovely people, home from home. Breakfast offers lots of choice and nothing is too much to ask for. Minutes from beach by foot. Lovely wee place to re-charge your batteries.

The place was recommended and was as they said. Nice, clean accommodation with all that you would need for a short stay. Staff, Lee, was friendly and professional without being over eager, a common fault in my view. So, yes, would recommend the place without reservation... Directly, almost, to the oil tanker freeway which has a charm of its own... More

Everything was just as others have reported in Trip Advisor. Lee was very friendly and helped to carry our bags to the room. We were unfortunately in the annex at the back and the nice covered walkway was being maintained and it was very wet on one of the days, but no big issue. The upstairs rooms we had have... More

A friend of mine recommended I stay here and I wasn't disappointed. Very clean friendly and quiet. Lee and his staff are very attentive and helpful. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and the cooked breakfasts I had were super. Plenty of parking around The Green. The garden is a lovely place to sit and relax with the sun... More

We stayed at Altonlea for 3 nights in April 2014 whilst visiting relatives. Other reviewers have said nothing seems to be too much trouble for Lee, Olwen and Tony and they were dead right. The reviews about the legendary breakfasts were also spot on. Our twin room, No 9, at the end of the annexe was well furnished and spotless,... More

The Altonlea Guest House is a wonderful place to stay. Spotlessly clean and spacious, great facilities in the en suite rooms and an extremely friendly family environment. It also has a beautiful garden to relax in. The breakfast is the best I've had anywhere. I would recommend the place to all. The location is also superb: across the road from... More
