Staff friendly & attentive, meal etc good value BUT the premises need refurbishing, tired& grubby, shame as the building is an old landmark in the area, owners need to invest. We visited mid-week and it was very busy which in the current climate is amazing, assume this is down to the chef & catering staffs good efforts

Went for afternoon tea with family, very good value. Couldn't fault sandwiches, scones when we had them changed were fine had to ask for jam , then not in a pot we were given little plastic portions. Cakes were a none starter 3 small packet cakes cut into quarters, even my granddaughter didn't want them. Service only so so .... More

We booked the famous room 18, the Verander. Sadly due to un foreseeing circumstance we had to move room, we were upgraded to a family suite, room 22. Both rooms were lovely. The hotel is very clean, with lots of very friendly staff. We had our evening meal in the Grill room, great service at a great price. Looking forward... More

This was my first and will be my last stay in this hotel. My colleagues had stayed there previously and advised me not to stay in room 18, which is a room situated in the loft of the hotel. They didn't like it because of the strange Goth-like decor, which led one in particular to believe it was haunted. So... More

…comes to something when the nachos look more appetising than the so called Xmas feast…facility is totally underinvested, chipped paint, horrible carpets, and the place smells like a bad old folks home. Food disgusting showers and rooms dreadful, and front office staff ignorant to borderline rude….the Watery Fowls. Avoid at all costs.

I rang this hotel on the 19th November to enquire about their lunchtime menu as I wanted to take my Mam for lunch to celebrate her birthday. I had visited in the summer and had had a beautiful fresh crab salad and I wanted to know if it was still available on the menu. Unfortunately crab wasn't on the menu... More

we had this hotel as a venue for our daughters wedding reception and I must say that the service from all of the staff was excellent and the food was excellent too. Everyone of our guests commented that they had had a lovely day and enjoyed the food too. Both of my daughters had a room for the night and... More

This place is a joke! Despite it being our beautiful chosen wedding reception venue. We had to cancel the wedding due to a serious family matter. To which we were gutted. But to not book anything ie meals etc and to still take all of our money and not refund is a joke we did not sign any agreement and... More
