I booked myself and 2 colleagues in here for a 1 night stay while we were working nearby, couldn't really believe my eyes when we got there - this is NOT a hotel. The "rooms" are like wooden prison cells in someone's back garden - every other guest seemed to permanently live there as some sort of hideout for their... More

The room is disgustingly dirty, the bathroom is covered with other peoples sprayed tooth paste, body hairs and everything else you can imagine. Just as I noticed that, the rodents started scurrying around in the ceiling. Seriously, just don't even think about it.

Despite pre-booking and paying for a double room, we had to stay in family room "due to heavy bookings". Then moved to double room 2 days later (yet the family room remained vacant thereafter). Both rooms filthy: used soap, blackened bed head, badly stained carpet, etc. The staff were so unbelievably rude that I thought that we had walked into... More

Never cleaned room in 5 days stay ,bed bugs, bathroom so small couldn't move in it and constant noise from hotel workers slamming doors. Wouldn't put my worst enemy in the place. Had to repeat your self to workers over and over again , breakfast cold beans well fried eggs and smallest sausage ever seen. Topfloor rooms for under 4ft

Is there a rating less than terrible? We had requested an early 11:00am check in. Arrived at 11:45 and the rooms were not ready. At 1:00 pm the rooms were not ready. After flying over from the States exhausted we finally were shown to our rooms at 1:30. Sorry then that we were. They were dirty, musty and looked like... More

Late booking done online and all we needed was a clean decent place to rest our heads for the night. Being charged for the car park was a bit cheeky but the dirty room, including half empty beer can from previous occupant, and the drunken comings and goings in the early hours, which included a knock on the door and... I and 3 friends stayed in a family room for a wedding, we weren't greeted with the friendliest of receptions. My friend gave his name and the gentleman replied "oh you". On paying an extra £3 to park in the hotel car park we we're shown to our bedroom. On booking the family room and explaining that it was for... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel, it was a last minute decision and to be honest the only hotel we would find with availability due to the bank hotel local events happening. I wish we hadn’t bothered. It is very overpriced, very poor decoration and dated. We had the choice of two rooms neither of which I... More

We were attending a party and needed an overnight stay. There was limited availability in the area and The Moorings was the only place we could find. It purports to be a 3star hotel and certainly charged the rate for one (we paid £89 for room only). Car parking £4 and breakfast another £10 extra! In all it was very... More
