Having read the reviews for this hotel i was a little wary but felt it was worth a try. Booked a seaview room with four poster for two midweek nights but when we were shown "our" room it was obvious something had gone wrong. The room we were given was at the rear of the hotel, tiny and with a very... more

The Clarendon sited in the run down victorian seaside resort of Morecambe is the sort of place jack and vera would have stopped in, guests with blue rinses and beige exteriors were in abundance. Rooms unpretentious and comfortable. Full english breakfast is indeed full and great value. So if you dont fancy paying through the nose in nearby Lancaster for... more

Requested a quiet room with twin beds which we got. However there was a wall socket hanging off the wall with bare live wires exposed, the TV remote was missing and the hairdryer didn't work. Staff on reception were apologetic and offered a room change but the only room available was right over a noisy wedding reception Iit was bank... more

In spite of requesting three non smoking rooms for family and ourselves, two of the rooms allocated were really smelly. I was told by reception that because I had booked on line, and had paid a cheaper price, I could not be guaranteed no smoking. As we were only staying the one night, I didn't want to make a complaint,... more

In charge of a touring choir which stayed for one night , I picked out the Clarendon after searching the net. From my point of view, the administration prior to our visit was excellent - all done by email, prompt replies to queries, able to accommodate the idiosyncracies of a varied party, arranging special requirements, and no signs of exasperation... more

From the outside this looks like a sea front pub, but dont be fooled when you walk in it is like the tardis, lots of space. We booked last minute through an internet site and expected the normal run of the mill what's left is what you get type of thing, How pleasently surprised we were to find we were put... more

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in a suite on the first floor. The best thing about the room was, of course, the fabulous view of the bay. The room was spacious and nicely furnished and the bathroom was clean and well equipped. The bed was rather hard but no doubt good for our backs! The cooked breakfast... more

Stayed one night in double room ensuite. The standard of fittings was reasonable. The bathroom with overbath shower, toilet pedestal and hand basin was new. Room and facilities spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good with fresh fruit slads, prunes, cereals on a buffet basis, with a good choice of cooked additions (ie. full English, kippers,... more
