We went to the Lothersdale for a three night stay in July for a ukulele festival. Don't judge us please. The first night (Thursday) we'd booked ourselves because we were driving a long way and didn't want to be exhausted on the first day. The second and third nights were booked as part of a package for all the ukulele... More

Chose to stay here overnight (for convenience more than anything else) in order to attend a friend's hen night at the attached 'Aspect' restaurant. Car park is at back of hotel though didn't use it, favouring parking on the sea front opposite. Check-in was fine after a minor hiccup, & we made our way to the room (102) for the... More

Can't fault the food, but if you are allocated a room on the lower ground floor, you most certainly do NOT get a view of the sea. There is also a bar which is open 24/7 and one room has a' lovely' view of a steel staircase leading to a bar and outside seating area, which is open to the... More

We had a wonderful weekend with friends at this hotel - they couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovation of rooms starting with the top. Having said that, our rooms on the lower ground floor were perfectly good. Ask for a front facing room and you'll see the sea - a sliver of grey-blue from our rooms.... More

Arrived for a wedding, it took at least 15 minutes to check in as no-one on reception for ages, followed by confusion and delay while they decided which room to give us, despite an earlier call to the hotel to check availability of our room and being told our room would be ready. This delay contributed to us missing most... More

whilst the staff and their service was excellent...we found the owner/proprietor/manager very rude and condescending. We had guests from Germany for the wedding, and he chose to argue about the bill for the wedding in front of them whilst we were sitting at the dining table around 9.30pm ..to avoid my guests being totally embarrassed by the proprietor; I finalised... Went with a cycling group from Morley(near Leeds) Catered for internal storage of of bikes. Good service in restaurant and bar. Good, quality food both of the adventurous and traditional variety. For our group ( mixed couples and singles) room charge, on a half board basis, was £45/50 per person per night( was same even for those with a single... More

The Lothersdale looks ok at first sight. Frankly though some of the rooms are ok but they range from pokey basement cupboards to modernish seaview. Regrettably our room ("101"..... Is this a not-so-subtle joke?) was a twin bed in the basement/cellar (incorrectly claimed by the hotel to be a sea-view). The bay-window looked out onto a concrete bench area that... More
