Lovely spacious room with quirky room accessories. Very comfy bed. Food was excellent and all the staff very friendly and seemed genuinely pleased to have you stay at the hotel. Accommodated our dogs very well indeed and very nice to be able to eat in the rotunda restaurant with them - (very nice cocktails and fish and chips ) Main... More

Visited for a meal with friends after attending a funeral. The food was superb as was the service. I live in London and often eat in good West End restaurants and this was certainly up with the best of them. The bill for 4 including wine was £180 but worth every penny

My wife and I came to the Midland as part of our Silver Wedding anniversary celebration. The hotel looks a little austere from the outside but we were warmly welcomed. Delighted with our room and the superb view over the sea. Quirky en-suite bathroom. Dinner was superb and with great service - fillet steak cooked to perfection and my wife's... More

what a big let-down - the only fresh cake was the scone which was delicious with the cream/jam. The other cakes must have been bought in as they looked and tasted like a well known brand I buy myself. The sandwich bread was good but the filling was hardly visable - and at £18.50 per head this is a rip-off.... More

Excellent staff, wonderful ambience, well designed "quirky" bedrooms. The Midland has captured the best of the modern, with the best of a previous civilised age. Our first stay but cannot wait to return! This art deco hotel is well recommended - it certainly has the "WOW" factor!

Returned from a short break at this iconic hotel. As a devotee of the art decor style and a interested follower of Eric Gill's work it was a lovely treat to spend some time here. I have watched this beautiful hotel go from sad vandalised and almost derelict to the real beauty she is again today. We had a lovely... More

What a lovely hotel, wonderfully restored to it's art-deco grandness. Rooms are very very comfortable and views over the bay are stunning. The restaurant is an excellent standard and the bars are fabulous, staff very friendly and accommodating. We will be going again!

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights here and, despite wet and windy weather, had a great stay. Arriving after a day on the train from Plymouth, the walk from the station to the hotel was only a few minutes. As we have stayed before we knew what to expect, but still the foyer and that staircase are very... More

We came for an afternoon tea to celebrate a family occasion and we were greeted with a glass of complimentary prosecco which was a lovely gesture and we didn't have to wait too long to be served. The staff was very polite as always. However, we were a little disappointed that we were not checked on or got offered any... More
