Steve is a really friendly and helpful host, who provides fantastic breakfasts! The rooms are warm and comfortable, and the location wonderfully peaceful. Barker Stakes Farm is perfect for a weekend break, and ideally located for exploring York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Coast. more

Steve and his family made us truly welcome. The room was outstanding with a small kitchenette in our space. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfasts were very well cooked, tasty and of very good size - especially the salmon scrambled egg which was made with their own eggs. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the hosts and they... more

Fantastic location, peaceful, friendly and excellent breakfasts - what more could you ask for? We spent two nights at Barker Stakes to link in with the Autumn Steam Festival on the North York Moors Railway. The farm is ideally situated just a few minutes outside Pickering and consists of tastefully appointed renovated farm buildings. Highly recommended if you are a... more

My Wife and I have recently returned from a week spent at Barker Stakes Farm. What a find, a B&B set on a small farm run by the most delightful people. The Breakfasts are gigantic and the friendly banter by Steve and his father Alan made the stay most enjoyable. No traffic noise to be found here as it is... more

The location is lovely being on a quiet farm off a country lane. The owners were extremely friendly and had a very positive and helpful attitude. This location is perfect for families with small children. There were plenty of animals on the farm for the children to look at and large outdoor spaces to play in and a play area... more

I would agree with all the positives other people have left. We had a very peaceful stay, the rooms are lovely, clean and spacious. It was great having the private deck to sit out of an evening. Steve & sarah were gracious hosts and Steve cooks a great breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. more

We stayed at Steve's & Sarah's excellent farm Bed & Breakfast for our third year. We cannot fault the services and the friendly welcome we always get. The rooms are great, the breakfast's even better (waistline can prove that) and the peace and quiet in the evening is a dream. You do not have evening meals (but when you book... more

Had a lovely stay during May half term with two teenagers. Room number 7 was perfect having flat screen TV`s & a separate sleeping area for the children. It even had a small kitchen area with a fridge - perfect for chilling a bottle of wine. Location was very peaceful although very close to all the tourist destinations, including Flamingoland... more
