Lovely idyllic location, very peaceful. Very nice owners, very helpful. We stayed in a 2 bed lodge, compact but everything that we needed. Lodge was clean, a little tired in places but everything worked and the shower was great. It is the end of the season so you can't expect everything to be perfect. The kids play park was fab... More

My 4 year old son and my mother in law have just returned from a two night stay here. I booked a twin room but upon arrival they were given a much bigger family room. They really enjoyed their time there and enjoyed feeding the alpacas and other animals. My mother in law couldn't speak highly enough of their stay... More

Spent one night here (September 1st) in a family room (number 7) as we were going to Flamingoland the next day. Stunning location, fabulous facilities for families (great little park, pool table/table tennis/connect 4 in a converted barn) , friendly farm animals. Run by friendly and hospitable people. Will definitely return. Thanks for a great stay!

We booked this venue because it looked good and had the type of accommodation we were looking for. We wanted a family room without the child's bed in our room. The room we had was perfect. We received a very warm welcome and help with our cases to our room, which was ground floor with a nice decked area accessed... More

A superb place especially for families yet the layout is such that children will annoy other guests as there are excellent play facilities. Good comfortable rooms good breakfast warm welcome and a country situation but near Pickering

This was a one-night stopover with our three children as we were travelling through Yorkshire. We regularly struggle to find a reasonably priced room which can accommodate a family of 5 but here we spent a very comfortable night in a lovely spacious "mini-suite" with a separate room for the children's beds and our own private terrace. The owners are... More

We stayed 2 nights at Barker Stakes Farm and we really enjoyed this place. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of animals and things to do for children. The rooms was nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent (and huge!). The owners are very welcoming and always ready to help. A nice address.

I have just returned from what should have been a two night stay at what is listed as a four star Bed and Breakfast. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My daughter and I stayed in what can only described as a wooden shack, situated beside farm buildings. The room was dirty with cob webs in abundance, which as... More

The reviewer failed to mention that she previously stayed with us in June 2013 and enjoyed it so much she returned. She booked "the cabin" online but said she had not paid any attention to what she booked as this was the last room. The description of the room is "a wooden cabin adjacent to the farm buildings" exactly as... More

Set in beautiful surroundings on a working farm. Breakfast is filling and varied with the option of a full English every morning! There is a select of games and dvd to borrow. The family that run it are extremely helpful and very friendly will look at visiting again in the future and will recommend to everyone!
