We ended our day at the Lion Pub and B&B and were picked up by Michael and transported to the August Guest House. For dinner Michael ran us down to the Coach House Inn at Rosedale Abby. Fine meal. Mary fixed a fantastic breakfast and then Michael ran us back up to the Lion and we continued our trek West.... More

So glad we found this gem of a bed and breakfast and was the ideal place to watch the riders on the Tour of Yorkshire go up Rosedale summit. From the minute we arrived we were treated very well, the coffee and tea with our lunch was really appreciated and anything else we asked for was there for us too,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2014. A lovely place to stay, out of the way and beautiful location. Although out of town, it is close enough to Rosedale to make it an easy mission to enjoy the attractions of the area. Owners were very welcoming and friendly, fabulous fresh breakfasts, we would definately stay here again if... More

As with other Coast to Coasters we were picked up from the Coast to Coast path by Mike and returned the next day (this is an extra cost over the regular tariff but it is a long way). Mike drove us to and picked us up from a local pub for dinner the night we stayed as well. The cottage... More

My wife and I stayed here with two other couples as part of our Coast To Coast walk. The guest house (as with all accommodation in the area) is a long way from the coast to coast track. But this is not a problem, because having advised Michael of our need for a ride there when we booked, a quick... More

This is a wonderful place to stay whilst walking the Coast to Coast. Mary and Mike were first class, five star hosts. Mike kindly picked us up (and dropped us off the next day) at the Millenium Stone on the route, so no extra miles. It is a very relaxing environment, with bird watching from the lounge window at the... More

I booked a two night stay at August Guest House as I wanted to do some walking around Rosedale Abbey, a part of the North York Moors that I hadn't explored much previously. Booking was done by email in a friendly manner, and this was matched upon my arrival when I was immediately offered tea and biscuits :-) I stayed... More

My wife and I have stayed on a few occasions now and cannot fault the service. The area is stunning and ideal for a short break giving great value for money. Breakfast sets you up for the day, no need to eat until the evening.

We stayed at the August Guest house for one evening during our Coast to Coast hike. As previously arranged our host Mike picked us up at Blakey Ridge to take us down to their home, the August Guest House. Fortunately we arrived in Blakey Ridge to be able to take advantage of a nice pint at the White Lion, reputed... More
