The B&B is a hike from the Lion Inn (we hiked) but Michael would have picked us up if we had asked. He took us to a pub where we had one of our best meals on C2C. He collected us afterwards. He returned us to Lion Inn next morning. He and Mary were great hosts. Loved Michael's dry humour.... More

August Guest House is warm and friendly. The rooms were quite small but very comfortable and Mary and Michael are lovely and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast looking out over their garden and Michael was very happy to give us a lift to the local pub for our evening meal. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

On arrival we were welcomed by Mary and Michael with afternoon tea and scones. Not only did Michael pick us up from the finish, he drove us to a nearby pub for our evening meal, collected us at the end and drove us to the start of the next leg the following morning. A good breakfast and packed lunches and... More

Spent a single night whilst walking the Coast-2-Coast ... and what a wonderful stay! Michael picked me up from the Lion Inn at the arranged time (he helpfully suggested that I had a meal at the Lion - which saved me the effort of going out again:-) ) Note: there may be no mobile signal at Blakely Ridge, but the... My dad and I stayed here during our coast to coast walk in July 2015. Michael picked us up at the Lion Inn and drove us down into Rosedale, where we were welcomed in by Mary. After showers and some rest, Michael drove us to a pub for dinner. The rooms were cosy and clean. Breakfast was very good, and... More

Micheal and Mary are just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they want out of their way to be kind and caring. Michael came to pick us up from the pub which was a great service and Mary took our food order for breakfast and packed lunches. We were shown to a beautiful, clean and lovely room and given... I stayed in this guest house 30th May 2015 during my coast to coast walk. The owners gave me the warmest of welcomes and nothing was too much for them to do. Their hospitality was outstanding. The guestrooms and facilities were warm, comfortable and of a high standard. Just what I needed after a long day of walking!

Michael picked us up at the Millennium Stone a few miles beyond the Lions Inn. Although there is very patchy reception on the Moor, I was able to use my mobile at the pub and on the road. Michael was there promptly and able to move all three of us with packs easily. After a shower and lashings of hot... More

We ended our day at the Lion Pub and B&B and were picked up by Michael and transported to the August Guest House. For dinner Michael ran us down to the Coach House Inn at Rosedale Abby. Fine meal. Mary fixed a fantastic breakfast and then Michael ran us back up to the Lion and we continued our trek West.... More

So glad we found this gem of a bed and breakfast and was the ideal place to watch the riders on the Tour of Yorkshire go up Rosedale summit. From the minute we arrived we were treated very well, the coffee and tea with our lunch was really appreciated and anything else we asked for was there for us too,... More
