First the good points: Pleasant staff Linen and towels (and toliet tissue!) of good quality Hospitality tray includes J2O Individually cooked breakfast Then the not so good: Most rooms are noisy - the nearby main road is quite busy, there's no double glazing and the internal and external walls are thin The decoration, especially external, is in need of a... We did not stay at the hotel but went for the Sunday Carvery. The welcome was great and we were shown straight to a table. The dining area was spacious, clean and tidy with table decorations and it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. Drinks were very reasonable and the carvery at £8.95 was very good value for money.... More

Booked a night in the hotel to meet up with family who were staying in nearby Flamingo Land. The room was comfortable and well prepared. The family joined us for evening meal at the hotel and the food was good. Thankfully the restaurant wasn't busy as our party included 2 very young guests who were practicing their dance routine! Staff... More

Overall, the hotel was ok. Breakfast was adequete, however, ends by 0930hrs which is far too early on a weekend. Some of the bedding was stained which was disappointing, the throw etc. The bar area is limited in seating and lacks any sense of being somewhere to sit, chat and relax, this could be improved on. Overall ok.

Had booked another hotel in Pickering but because of a mix-up, no room available there. Lovely hotel manager searched for a room for us (town extremely busy due to concerts) and found one empty room at the Beansheaf! Little bit further out than we had wanted but a nice place to stay - room (a small double) was perfectly good... More

Have stayed here on many occasions and every time I arrive you are greeted by excellent friendly staff. The rooms are always clean and tidy with crisp clean sheets and lots of fresh towels, oh and the food is great too. Would recommend to anybody.

Good front of house represent this hotel. Evening meals and breakfasts were good and well presented. Rooms had good white fluffy towels and clean bed linen. The only downside we found was that some parts could do with being freshly painted.

Having been double booked at the hotel we had booked via late rooms The Beansheaf put us up without any problem. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good. Best bowl of porridge I have ever had! Near to Pickering and very central to coast etc. Will definitely make a return visit. Bus stop outside hotel if you didn't want... More

This hotel gets the basics right. The rooms are clean. comfortable and a decent size, the breakfast is good and the evening meals are good pub-style food with plenty of choice and generous portions. The staff are helpful , answering queries about local information or adapting breakfast orders to suit the diner. There is tea and coffee and a soft drink in... Had a day biking at Dalby then booked in last minute. The rooms were great the food was exceptional. The thing that made it was the evening, the staff were all very friendly and even sat and had a drink with us whilst they kept the bar open for us! Great place
