My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was good with a massive bed and all the usual amenities . If I was nitpicking there was some black above the bathroom window. We had dinner on the first evening and found the food to be plentiful ,good quality at a reasonable price. My only niggle with the hotel... More

When friends were getting married in august and decided to have this hotel for their evening reception it seemed a good opportunity to have a couple of days away, looking on the website the rooms looked lovely so went ahead and booked a long weekend.....pulling into the car park the hotel looked nice time and money has been spent on... Didn't look much from outside but rooms and food very good. Only problem our room was at front of hotel and next to busy road which was a bit noisy but would recommend it to anyone visiting the Pickering. Staff very accommodating and friendly.

When you eat & drink the chances are you want the toilet afterwards at some point, but if you happen to be a full time wheelchair user you can't do this when visiting this establishment because you can't get anywhere near the disabled toilet let alone in it because it's full to the brim with junk!! The decor was also... More

The female staff were lovely and seemed very passionate about their guests and spent plenty of time helping us look after our 1 year old daughter as she mosied around the hotel. The room was very nice and had no major complaints, although bathroom did need updating a bit. The food was lovely maybe a bit pricy for us but... More

We stayed here as a stop gap while traveling to Whitby. Very reasonable price and clean room with nice decoration. Showers could do with to be stronger but suitable for the price. We stayed for dinner in the restaurant and was glad we did as the food was great. Lovely home cooked and large portion. Friendly staff.

Stayed here for business trip, just me. Was convenient for my needs but would be a bit out of the way for general purpose. My satnav lead me astray! Nice enough and comfy room with single bed but not amazing for the price - quite small. When I went into the restaurant they told me they had stopped serving food... More

We stayed here in July 2014 and were disappointed. The room did have a very large bed, however due to the room being small, this was not really appropriate. The room and bathroom were both very tired and in need of updating. The shower was very weak. The bar wasn't well stocked, and the beer garden looked like a derelict... More

When we 1st arrived at the hotel the man in reception was very unwelcoming and quite rude when we asked for a taxi to be booked for us to take us into town! After not putting much effort into booking us a taxi we gave up! Once checked in the room was nice and pretty clean, it wasn't perfect but... More
