Stayed at Grindale House, Pickering, in September. Centrally situated, it's a short walk to the high street and then round the corner to the North York Moors Heritage Railway Station, so it's highly recommended for Heritage Railway visitors. Stayed in the little cottage at the back of the house which was clean and very well appointed. I've not eaten a... More

A very homely bed and breakfast, excellent hosts, very clean, friendly and a fabulous breakfast. Having stayed a few times we would always stay at Grindale House when in Pickering and would be disappointed if we could not get a reservation. Highly recommended.

Stayed for a couple of nights with my wife and 2 kids (3 year old and 1 year old). We stayed in the family suite at the top of the house which worked really well except for the ceiling height which were a bit low but I am 6' 6" so not a problem for most people. The rooms were... More

Work brought me to Pickering earlier this year. After trying out most of the hotels and B&Bs in the area, I quickly found the Grindale House to be my absolute favorite….and ended up staying for about 5 months! I particularly liked that the house was outfitted with very modern, clean, and practical rooms, while still maintaining the old style classical... More

We had an exceptionally warm welcome on our arrival, and shown to a beautifully clean and warm en suite room on the ground floor, excellent for disabled persons. The stay was rounded off with the best every English breakfast where nothing was to must trouble. We will return to Grindale House in the near future.

having a four night break at the grindale, so far breakfasts have been excellent and plentiful. Nothing too much trouble for Valerie and her staff. Would highly recommend. Parking a plus in private car park as Pickering can be quite busy.

My family and I have been staying at Grindale House for a few years but for some unknown reason I have never got around to writing about it on Trip Advisor shame on me! Grindale is a fantastic place, it offers rooms and little cottages for boarding. I personally prefer the cottages outside in the courtyard probably because being at... More

The staff were really kind, allowing us to secure our bikes in the garage. The bathroom and all other aspects of the suite were quality throughout with new materials utilised. Breakfast was great with quality sausages (not budget rusky ones as at cheapo places) and lovely fresh ingredients well presented. Would definitely stay again.

We booked a night's B&B at this small guest house in Pickering, without knowing anything about it - what a great find! The room was spotless, airy, and very quiet. Staff were lovely, the owner charming, exceptionally welcoming. Very good breakfast too!!
