Stayed for three days in August on route to Scotland. Could have stayed for three months. Great breakfast & great cake. Barbara & Neville are wonderful hosts. They have made real attention to detail to create a superb B&B. more

Our expectations were high - we weren't disappointed they were exceeded. Barbara and Neville, our hosts, thought of everything to ensure we had the 5 star Toftly View experience - we did. We were totally chilled out in a very short time, the ambience was wonderful, the breakfasts excellent and the cakes and chocolates absolutely scrummy. Attention to details second... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights inThe Room with a View. Everything the other reviewers have said is true. I could find nothing to criticise except that after 3 days of Nevilles' amazing breakfasts and afternoon teas it's back to the diet! The attention to detail in the furnishing of the B & B is second to... more

There is no were to compare to the comfort service and quality found at toftly view. Every thing is of the best available quality, service, food and Nevil's home cooking is yorshires best. The more visiters that stay the harder it will become to get a booking as all return again and again, If this place cant make you happy... more

We stayed at 'Toftly View' at the end of August 2009. What a gem of a B and B! Everything about our stay was second to none. Barbara and Neville were wonderful hosts, friendly, approachable and informative in equal measure. The village and location is beautiful. We stayed in the 'Blue Room' which was tastefully decorated and had a very... more

We stayed at The Old Vicarage last summer as part of a long weekend visiting the Yorkshire Moors. All we can say is we have stayed at a number of B&B's over the years, but this was by far the best place we have ever stayed, in fact for us is was up there with some of the best hotels... more

I can only agree with others on here who have rated the Old Vicarage so highly. We loved the location, the room, the area and the attention we received from Neville and Barbara. We were lucky enough to spend 5 days there recently in the most beautiful weather, which always helps. It was an ideal base for visiting Whitby, the... more

Neville and Barbara were lovely hosts, making excellent suggestions for our explorations, providing fine breakfasts with local fruits and many extras, and even serving up a hot lemon when I got a sniffle. The setting on the edge of the Moors offers long views with a fine cart path walk and a welcoming pub a few doors away. The quiet... more

Quite possibly the most relaxing UK short break my wife and I have spent. Our room was terrific value when you took into account the quality and finish of fittings. Impossible not to be impressed with the attention to detail. The hosts have got it spot in in our eyes. Very friendly without being intrusive and Neville's cakes have to... more
