We stayed at The Old Vicarage last summer as part of a long weekend visiting the Yorkshire Moors. All we can say is we have stayed at a number of B&B's over the years, but this was by far the best place we have ever stayed, in fact for us is was up there with some of the best hotels... more

I can only agree with others on here who have rated the Old Vicarage so highly. We loved the location, the room, the area and the attention we received from Neville and Barbara. We were lucky enough to spend 5 days there recently in the most beautiful weather, which always helps. It was an ideal base for visiting Whitby, the... more

Neville and Barbara were lovely hosts, making excellent suggestions for our explorations, providing fine breakfasts with local fruits and many extras, and even serving up a hot lemon when I got a sniffle. The setting on the edge of the Moors offers long views with a fine cart path walk and a welcoming pub a few doors away. The quiet... more

Quite possibly the most relaxing UK short break my wife and I have spent. Our room was terrific value when you took into account the quality and finish of fittings. Impossible not to be impressed with the attention to detail. The hosts have got it spot in in our eyes. Very friendly without being intrusive and Neville's cakes have to... more

Simply perfect. Barbara and Neville and wonderful, helpful hosts. The house and location are stunning. The food was amazing. As mentioned before, the 'little things' all add up to a really special stay. more

All of the previous reviews about this five - star B&B are true, having read them prior to my visit I was anticipating it to be good, even great, but it is even better than that. We booked the best room, the white room, all I can say is try it, you will not be disapointed, its the little extras... more

Had a wonderful Sunday night here for our first wedding anniversary. Tea and cake in the lounge when we arrived; our pink bedroom, and the bathroom, were both lovely, large and clean, with a brilliant view - would love to see it in snow or sunshine. And I have to recommend the breakfast of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried bread, toast... more

Neville and Barbara provided us with the most fantastic short break accomodation experience we could imagine. The quality of the accomodation was excellent, the room we had was very well appointed both in terms of taste and its facilities. It is also well suited for disabled visitors. The level of service was superb with nothing being too much trouble. Afternoon... more
