Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. We did not stay in this hotel though we were staying in a B&B up the road. Delicious home cooked food with great service and atmosphere. The best restaurant in Rosedal Abbey for sure and we tried all 3 of them.

We stayed at this hotel one night and were "enchanté" ! Nice en-suite family room with a garden view, very quiet. The restaurant was very good. We ate lamb with Yorskhire pudding (giant pudding like a vulcano!!). Indeed a very nice place to stay with a spendid view !

We stayed here this weekend for Rosedale show and had a wonderful weekend. The food was excellent as always but size of the portions were a bit too big if that's a complaint ! A lot of food must be wasted. The staff and management are all great, choice beer first class. The views across the valley are outstanding we... More

We had a meal here whilst staying in Pickering with a couple of friends. Pleasantly suprised at how the tasty the home cooked food was, and very good value for the price. Staff very friendly and service good. Beautiful view of the setting sun over the hills from out of the restaurant window. Would eat here again if ever in... More

This is such a great place. We had visited before and stayed in the excellent accommodation but had not been for a while. Called in on Sat. 26th July 2014. We were immediately recognised by hosts Christine and Jim and given a very warm, genuine welcome back. We were actually in our small camper van this time and asked if... More

We visited the white horse on a busy Saturday night, as we went into the bar area there was a few people waiting. As we have been here before you tend to recognise faces of staff, there was only one person serving behind the bar doing drinks for people waiting as well as orders from tables, the 'stressed' bar maid... Had dinner here Saturday 19th July 2014 and it was exceptional. There was 7 of us including a 3 year old and the food was outstanding and the service couldn't have been better. The atmosphere was of a the friendliest of pubs and the standard of food was like a top end restaurant. A great mix in my eyes.

Called in on spec for evening meal, had choice of either restaurant or bar area, extensive menu, pleasant staff. I ordered the battered fish whilst my wife had a steak pie with lots of fresh vegetables. Both meals were well presented and of good quantity. We had a choice of sweets to finish and my wife had a delicious lemon... More
