This is a lovely place to stay and Lorraine is the perfect host. The accomodation was excellent and the food plentiful, good quality and nicely presented. We loved the little seating area outside and the general calm ambience of the surroundings. A good base for exploring all the North Yoprkshire has to offer. Thanks Lorraine soory it's taken so long... More

Lovely place to stay Lorraine is very hospitable and cannot do enough for you. The breakfasts are very good, extensive menu and good well cooked food. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We have stayed at the farm for three years and have booked again for next year. Thanks once again Lorraine.

This farm is a mile and a half from the main A 170, yet it is so peaceful. The accommodation is very good and Lorraine goes the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one. Breakfast was a feast with plenty of choice and nicely presented. Lorraine's mum made the most delicious date slice which we had on arrival... More

Comfortable and clean accommodation providing a perfect base for exploring this part of the world. Lorraine couldn't have been more accommodating if she'd tried! Nothing was too much trouble, even the 6.15 breakfast! Lots of useful information about the local area and beyond readily available. Many thanks for a great stay.

Lorraine's family have lived in and loved this region for over 100 years and it shows. She has renovated the farm house at Allerston, near Pickering, to create a special and friendly home stay. It's a gorgeous setting in farmland convenient for driving to spots in the Yorkshire moors or for relaxing right there. You can book into self contained... More

Thank you for your wonderful and honest review. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay here and that you appreciated the beautiful setting and my hospitality. As soon as we arrived Lorraine was there to great us. Nothing was to much trouble, rooms clean & well furnished, however room could have done with somewhere to sit comfortably, the folding chairs provided were not and had to be set before use and then folded up after, but this is only a minor Critisism. We have just returned from a week in Granary cottage (6-13 July). The cottage is spotlessly clean and everything you need is provided. It's a really quiet location, so peaceful at night but don't think it's remote as it most definitely isn't . There are so many places to visit that a week just isn't long enough. It's really central... More
