Stayed for two nights but wished we had left after the first. Basic room with white walls and no pictures. A bed a chair and a wardrobe. It felt like a prison cell and the heating didn't work so she brought out an electric fire to plug in. The bed felt like sleeping on scaffold boards so after two days... More

Firstly, B and B accommodation around Pickering seems rather expensive so £60 for B and B for two seemed good value to us. We also ate in the pub on Saturday night. The pub grub was excellent fish and chips and mushy peas and we had a filling pud. Ale was good. Family friendly eating area so quite lively -don't... More

Well laid out touring site , ample room between caravans . The toilets and showers are very clean . There is a pub adjoining the site which is quite nice and does good meals in the evening . Across a busy main road is a nine hole golf course which is very cheap for around of golf . Lots of... More

We have been going camping at park behind pub for a few years now, however the owner of the pub now, is most unfriendly and does not want to interact with her customers at all, the rest of the staff seem friendly enough but the pub itself has no atmosphere and even thought it was August bank holiday, if it... Stayed at the Black Bull for two nights this summer. The room had most mod cons, however the shower was little more than a dribble and the remote control didn't work (not offered a replacement, just told to use buttons on the TV) The bed was lovely and the room was massive although it did feel impersonal and cold, despite... I camped in the site next door 3 years ago and didn't rate the food much, particularly the chips. My husband and I went again with some friends recently and tried to suggest going elsewhere but they said it could have changed in 3 years so we went for a meal. They had the fish and chips - lovely fish... More

This is a lovely Pub/Restaurant with excellent, freshly cooked food. The Landlady Tina is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome. Her sidekick 'Twig' her gorgeous dog is just as friendly. We were seated directly opposite garden doors fully open that led onto an outside seating & eating area. Well behaved dogs are made very welcome. Our food was... More
