We spent a week here in July, and loved it. We had our dog with us so were in Middlehead Cottage, which faces a big grassy field and woods beyond. Really comfortable, well-equipped kitchen, lovely beds and Sue was a very welcoming and friendly owner - made us feel at home and gave us lots of ideas and brochures of... More

We had a very relaxing stay at Cropton Forest Lodge in June. The cottage we stayed in was perfect. Travel to Pickering is only a short lovely drive away and you have Whitby and the coast a fabulous drive over the moors, but his is also a perfect stay for cycling and walking. Thanks for a lovely stay Sue, we... More

What an amazing place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were given a warm welcome from Sue who showed us around our beautiful cottage. It was spotless. On the first evening we had a short walk through the forest which relaxed us and then we slept really well. The bedrooms were spacious and beautiful and the bed so comfy.... More

Absolutely fantastic short break stay. Accommodation was faultless. The rooms were very spacious, beds were so comfy, decor and furnishings of a high standard and tasteful finishing touches added to a real homely stay. The whole place was spotless and everything needed was catered for, right down to midgey repellent, there was really no need to take anything along other... More

A gem of stay! Platinum all the way. Our comments cannot fully paint the exceptional time we enjoyed at Cropton Forest Lodge. Sue and Fin are delightful hosts and understand their clients. From the moment of booking our stay at the cottages the entire process was easy, efficient and without worry. Sue sends an information packet outlining area events and... More

We were amazed at the quality of al l the fixtures and fittings at the property. We were made to feel very welcome by Sue. This included our very hairy but well behaved labrador! Superb country walks on our doorstep, peace and quiet - by far the best holiday we have had in the UK. We will definitely return.

We were delighted with the standard of the property which we immediately awarded 10 out 10. We were instantly relaxed in the tranquil surroundings and loved the fact you could step outside the front door and take a different walk every day. Sue was great, always around and coming up with suggestions of good events and places of interest. We... More

Stayed here for two nights, for my birthday, was not let down, staff were friendly, room was clean, food was fantastic, but most of all the brewery trip was fun and interesting, and the beer matched the food. It is in a great location for trips out in North York Moors and East coast. Hope to visit again sometime, recommended... More

So sorry about the delay in my review!! We stayed at Middlehead Cottage the week before Easter and pretty much had the place to ourselves apart from the deer, rabbits, pheasants and peace and tranquillity. If you want to get away from it all, then this is the place for you. Ideally situated in what seems the middle of nowhere... More
