Stayed here recently as seemed convenient for the next day's visit. And it was. You need satnav to find it as it's up a long cul de sac, if a 1 mile lane can be called such. Reasonably priced. Well appointed and clean room. Superb location and views over lovely countryside. All facilities inc tea making etc. Bathroom good and... More

This is a family run hotel in a lovely location with ample parking. The room had a king size bed but with only queen size bedding, but comfortable and clean. The meals were ample and well cooked, however the service was rather slow. You will get an enthusiastic greeting from the family dogs.

Having just returned from staying at the weekend at Tantara, I have already recommended the hotel to friends looking to stay in the area shortly. From the minute we booked the room over the phone with Charlotte, welcomed by becky, and checked out by Kate, we felt completely and utterly looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff &... A very happy stay at this family run hotel, greeted with a welcoming smile that made you feel at home, a real Yorkshire country feel, everyone was happy to help, genuine people, not far from most places to visit, they were also happy if you wish to stay & enjoy the garden, with the chickens running around, & the horse... Friendly staff and good food served at breakfast and dinner. Beware the hotel is situated on a long country lane so is not in walking distance to the local village. The room was okay and the king-size bed was good. A bit expensive considering the location.

My wife and I booked this last minute for a 4 day break in Yorkshire, and struck it lucky. We found that it was centrally situated for us as we wanted to visit both Bempton Cliffs RSPB, Saltholme RSPB both just around a 1 hours drive, and it is right on the doorstep of the North Yorks Railway all of... Staff were friendly and helpful. They even opened the bar for us when we returned late at night. The breakfast was very good and kept us going all day. The only down side was the lack of passing places on the lane leading up to the Hotel. The grass verge's are very steep in places and make it impossible to... More
