Just back from a short stay in this hotel. I was staying here on business - which is just as well because I would not have been happy at having to fork out for this myself. The hotel's website gives one a good impression beforehand but I was extremely disappointed at the poor quality throughout. This is not a 4*... more

I'm super-late writing this review, but we had a memorable stay on our Scotland tour last July. This is an old hotel, something will inevitably not be in working order. During our stay, the air conditioning was out so the lecture room and dining room were stuffy, but the guest rooms were fine as long as you opened the window... more

My parents took our family (including my elderly grandfather) for my birthday weekend at this hotel. We had to decide between St Andrews and here and are so disappointed by our choice. When we arrived, check-in was sloppy having mixed up our reservations. My mother had specifically requested a twin room for my grandfather and brother to share in an... more

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night on the 10th of october with my boyfriend for his birthday. We are both 18 and it was our first wee break away together and we were definately not let down. We got a very good deal from hotel connexions so we booked dinner bed and breakfast with a premium room. The... more

We stayed here on a 2 night break over hogmanay. The rooms were lovely, although the bathroom was a little dated. The meals were also very nice, especially the breakfast. However, where this hotel let itself down was on the service. They only had 1 member of staff on serving at the bar during the hogmanay celebrations which meant we... more

We booked the Highland hotel for its location in Stirling. It is short walk to the town or Castle. The Hotel is an old school and in the main is an interesting building. However the wing in which we stayed was modern and while generally quite satisfactory, there was no air-conditioning and you had to leave the window open at... more

We booked in advance and the package was extremely good value for money. Wine, fluffy bathrobes and late checkout were included. Service was pleasant and the ambience was nice. Good breakfast. more

Rooms were fine.... no gripes, excellent bed... no prblems with cleanliness. Food- was Ok, messed order up a few times, very inexperienced dining room staff ( mostly eastern european , but that sees the norm... more

The location near the castle in Stirling and within easy walking distance of the town centre made it ideal for us. Had a problem finding our way into it because of the one way streets but car parking was within a quadrangle so felt car was secure, in fact we did not use it all the time we were there.... more
