Hubby and I just spent the last 2 nights of a 9 day tour of the Highlands and Islands at the Stirling Highland Hotel and loved it. Our room, although a bit of a hike from Reception was great - quiet, well furnished, spacious and clean. This hotel is big but full of charm and character having been an old... more

Stayed for one night on holiday. An amazing building with lots of character, its a pity they cant tidy up the entrance. You have to go past all the bins and it looks terrible. The reception was 1st class with no problems and our room was easy to find. The room was a bit dark but very clean and well... more

Your experience staying here will depend largely on what you pay. The official rates of the hotel are in no relationship to what you get (overpriced) . However they are fairly large and I presume they have to seriously discount regularly. We found an offer for 59GBP per night per room on Opodo and for that price you get a... more

Great hotel, located just below Stirling Castle, with ample parking. Converted from an old school with hotel rooms located in a newer wing. Food was good (we got a great deal with dinner for £15). A few things on the menu had supplements, but you could get a good meal without paying any extra if you wanted to. Leisure facilities... more

This hotel benefits from being very close to the town centre, and it is in an interesting building, an old school, with good parking. The bedrooms are standard 3/4 star large chain style. The staff are generally pleasant, young and enthusiastic but, especially in the restaurant, they desperately need training. Service in the restaurant was particularly poor, the staff just... more

We booked on the same day as our stay. It was a bit difficult to find in the dark. But, we were pleasantly surprised once we made it to reception. It's an old school in the center of Old Town in Stirling. Probably the best location for exploring this historic city. Our room was clean and spacious with plenty of... more

Staff very friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable, great food and very well equipped gym and swimming pool. A good feel of history and character, right in the old town and a few minutes pleasant walk to a wide variety of shops. Would certainly recommend. more

I have been to many hotels in Britain but none with the history and status that the Stirling Highland Hotel achieves, hence why i am baffled by the last review and felt that i had to write this as i STRONGLY DISAGREE! Booked a last minute stay with my partner, have been to Stirling before and loved it so thought... more

Absolutely disgusted!!! If you want a good weekend ruined by sub standard overpriced food and accommodation coupled with incompetent levels of service the likes of which are seen on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares stay at this hotel. The room we booked was supposed to be premium as you can see from the photos the only things that stood out were the... more
