I stayed here for one night before going on hoilday to Turkey in August 2008 with my husband and 2 grandchildren. To start with the rooms was very dirty, smelly and full of mould all the walls. The room we have was with an on-suite toliet with was more dirty than the actually rooms itself, there was no blind on... more

We got into an overflow room which were a bit rough with some mildew. It was fine enough for a sleep before catching an early morning Gatwick departure. Their van transfer to the Gatwick airport was good. It only takes a few minutes. The town is small with easy walking distance between the Horley train station, restraurants and the various... more

I stayed here some years ago and it was pretty good for a stop over. I used it this time as I had an early flight from Gatwick the next day. The hotel has obviously changed hands and when I stayed seemed to be in the middle of being redecorated. That being said our double room was in fact two... more

We felt compelled to report on our one night at Gainsborough Lodge. Our reason for staying in a guesthouse in Horley, was that we thought it would be more interesting than spending the night in a big chain hotel nearer to Gatwick. It was a big mistake. It started on check in when the man I will presume is the... more

I booked this hotel and after reading some reviews I got scared and expected some dirty hole. But the place is actually not so bad. It is nice old-fashioned british style house in nice location. The place is old but clean, staff normal. Not rude not very friendy. I got drop off to the airport at 9am. Room and bathroom... more

I booked this by phone with late rooms and was suprised at how cheap it was, so i was a bit worried before i arrived. I phoned the hotel and they provided a free pickup from Gatwick which was unexpected. when i got to the hotel the man seeing i was a woman on my own upgraded my room to... more

A group of 4 we needed a stopover between Gatwick flights. The Gainsborough proved to be an excellent choice. Free airport shuttle, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast with plenty fruit as well as the usual cooked fare. Staff very pleasant and helpful. All for £20pp! We would definitely stay there again! more

Good location with complimentary shuttle to and from Gatwick airport. On arrival we asked the lady on the desk where we could eat an evening meal. We selected the local pub (Ye Olde Six Bells) from the choices given. Had a terrific meal and a couple of drinks there. Enjoyed a restful overnight sleep in double ensuite room, in the... more
