stayed in this Guesthouse before and after a flight to Canada from Gatwick, the host was very friendly and informative a mine of information as to where to go in London and how to get there, booked our taxi's for us to the airport and we left our car there for the duration of our trip for a very reasonable... Faced with a trek across London in rush hour I elected to travel out to the Horley area the day before my flight. I arrived just after the lunch hour dropped off my luggage and took the bus to Reigate to spend the afternoon exploring and doing a bit of last minute shopping. The guesthouse is a bit of a... More

Brian and Farida are a lovely helpful couple. The location is great for a local bus to Gatwick airport. The breakfast is well cooked. I tend to book the cheapest room which is small but the price happily reflects this correctly.

We had the ground floor room for our overnight stay prior to a trip to the USA. It was a little crowded with a double and a single bed in it but that's probably better than hauling your stuff up a narrow staircase. On our return when we went to pick up our car, I had a battery problem and... More

Brian and Falida were very friendly hosts, very welcoming, and great to talk to. Our room was fine and very comfortable. It's a little dated, but e found this to be fine to suit our need as a place to stay close to the airport. The location couldn't be much better for Gatwick as it's just down the road. The... More

I spent 14 nights in Melville Lodge as I was doing an electrical course in Crawley. Brian and Farida are very nice and helpful people. I can definitely recommend this place to everyone. They serve an excellent full english breakfast :)

Firstly brian and farida were so welcoming, we were actually transferred here from another hotel, and I was relieved when I got here, it was far cleaner, cosier and the owners were far more friendly. Would stay here again for sure.

I think the adjective 'tattered' used by a previous reviewer describes it well. I didn't think it was spotless, in fact I felt like I needed my flip-flops on in the bedroom. Good points: the breakfast was very good and the hosts are nice. This is not a bad place for a quick stopover.

Brian & Farida are friendly and great hosts...really make you feel welcome. It is great for a stop over at the beginning and end of your trip through Gatwick Airport. This is our third trip staying with thm and really enjoy it...recommend to everyone.
